Must admit, I've been calling for him to go. However, I remember the way he brought us back from the depths of shite. He's an absolute legend. Here's hoping Lampard can take us to the next level. Not my first choice, but he's here. Let's get behind him!!
Out of interest, who was your first choice?

Good to see Doug standing up to the local press really.

Turner and friends do my head in with their shameless click bait.

Nothing personal against CovTel or CWR but they'll be shown up by national press in the coming months.

After watching that press conference I am cautiously optimistic. Speaks a good game certainly.

Yeah, I'm really not keen on him, but that full press conference has left me feeling decent now that he's here. One thing I don't think you can dispute is he really seems to want this, gets what's expected, but isn't making daft promises or giving easy soundbites. All for nowt if they don't show us something on the pitch on Sat.

I'm gonna say it... I really liked King's answers in the press conference. No bullshi*t, straight bat, no waffle. Didn't want to make it about him; kept his answers short and to the point. I don't get having an agenda against him. Question his decisions? Sound. Sh*t on his character? Nah, b*llocks.

the question to frank “ has Doug put any targets in place “ was answered with “ I don’t believe Crazy targets, just take one game at a time, kinda pissed on Doug’s 3 play offs in 5 years 😂 and he was sat right next to him, they must have both talked about what’s realistic, let’s not set targets just see what happens,

Why? Nothing wrong with acknowledgement of achievement, but thinking that the time had come for a change.
You called for the old manager to go, and I get your reasons but it was against what most fans wanted.

The only bit that got me was following it up with a rallying cry for unity!

Anyway it's not a big deal, and wasn't meant to be confrontational.

(btw as a fan I will support Lampard just like I supported Robins)

Not sure if this was posted already.

Frank comes across well here, decent questions regarding how some fans aren't happy. Handled it well and stayed humble.

I'm parking my preconceptions over Frank and drawing a line under the disappointment of Robins dismissal. Time for a fresh start. I'll judge him on the results and performances. Good luck to him.

Lampard is very experienced at dealing with the media and handled it well, which should be expected of him. He talks straight and answers with clarity which again you would except with all his experience of dealing with them. The one thing he will not do is talk about in depth is budgets, transfers or targets set, he will be flippent, like he answered who from Chelsea J Felix..... .

His job is getting us promoted, he knows it and if he didn't think he had the backing or the foundation to do that he wouldn't of come. He explained why he is back in football when he doesn't need it, which was the most important answer of the interview for me. He said i want to work, i enjoy coaching i enjoy working with young players, but for 18 months i haven't had the right opportunity to get back. This club has given me the best opportunity and its one i felt was the right choice, as i have had other offers i didn't feel were right

Lampard is nobody's fool and has picked his horse as Doug has picked his jockey. Lets hope they have both picked a winner because if not the fans will have a big say in what they think of Doug if it falls on the 2nd lap. This season is not gone but its a free swing for Lampard and Doug to get the club moving in the right direction.

Think this covers it really well for me.

What gets me in particular about last season. How can a team have the bollocks to do what they did at Molineux, and even more so in 45 minutes against footballing giants at Wembley Stadium? Then bottle everything else since.
I think modern slavery 's is the current term?

Every new manager wants his own staff and players. It's one of the reasons it's so expensive getting on the managerial roundabout.

Give it a year or two, and we'll be doing this again with Frank's crew, imho.

Hence the relatively short term contracts I suppose

This match thread I followed up until about page 14 then I lost interest.
Very little impact by the subs. Where's the energy?

Whilst I'll support him, something just doesn't feel right. It's weird, even when we were shit it felt right, this doesn't.
Yes its weird seeing ambition & progression in action at Coventry City.
Possibly you were comfortable being "shit" because that is what we have been since the arrival of J.H' Sky Blues. Average finishing place abt 7th /8th from bottom. Relegation battles , many.

Changing the losing indoctrinated culture of a football club takes some doing.
I have come to regard Doug King for trying.
