What relationship with redknapp?

Well that’s the question. Is there one?

Or even just the reports in the Mail about him shutting out other senior people at the club and going against their advice.

Would like to know more about how he made the decision and who is advising him.

Ah the mail.

That infamously accurate news agency.

His update was all about moving on and how chuffed to bits he was at getting fl and the other coaches
Licence came up which he called a lease which wound me up but it’s all in hand. lol! He did say which I think is telling that of a club doesn’t have a 10 year agreement when it comes in the most it will be is a fine
It’s an angle I think in time needs to be pushed and not let go of until we have an answer
As many have said it’s a huge issue for the future of the club and we don’t have choices
We fall out with frasers (which is highly unlikely) we are fucked
The other major take home was a new full time accessibility person - woke gone mad! joke
And how John Taylor is stepping up as the go to person
He will come directly through me about winding house lane and leamington bus service and blocks 11-12 getting away to cars etc
Was really positive meeting.
Thanks for chasing up the bus service Pete

Ah so they write the articles themself do they?

My mistake.

Point is that the Mail has a financial incentive to make up politics stories. But the sport side of tabloids is generally reliant on being good at their job. We have a manager who the national press will be very well connected to, the idea they haven’t got information just because you don’t like it is silly. Doug is free to sue if they’re making up stories.

It's a very basic one line comment in the story. He was told to consider other candidates... he did... it was a 3 man shortlist according to the article itself. What are you exactly demanding an answer for.

Where have I said I don't like it. I'm just not getting pent up about it. People on here are saying that Austin and Dr Roberts aren't qualified enough. And yet complain when they are cut out of the final decision.

It's almost like every other hiring process. First round of interviews conducted by them. And then the second round conducted by the person above them to make the final decision.

I’m not demanding anything. I’m asking the forum rep in a thread about a rep meeting if a topic was brought up. I was curious. You and the rest of the “worried I’ve advocated for the wrong position so now am overcompensating on any perceived criticism” gang are just on a hair trigger right now.

That's a beautifully ironic first sentence. Where else have you read what happened at the forum? Are you mixing up the forum with the press conference? You sound like a massively ungrateful,.entitled Tw*t here. "If he's too busy, don't bother" jfc.
Still angry and throwing insults in is always a nice touch. I mean I could say that I think you're a humungous c*nt, but I wouldnt do that even if you are.

What I mean is where has it come from that he has a relationship with Redknapp?

What have I advocated for?

I just personally don't understand the persistent questioning on it. Whose advise he sought is moot now?

You think people disagreeing with you is a gang but I'm not even sure what gang you are referring to? Is this a Doug king fan club gang? Or do you just not like some people disagree with you very confused

No
Other than applications made him realise what a massive club we are and the fa cup run broadened our appeal massively
He didn’t know Lampard would apply
He was chuffed to bits
He thought 3 weeks was bloody good
Other than that no

That’s useful anyway. Thanks

Not really, for the third time and for the hard of thinking, I didnt ask for formal minutes, just a few cliff notes as now provided.

It would have taken less time to do that than post the responses and had he not been on at all I wouldnt have questioned it, but there were 10+ posts from him. the time the meeting is freshest in your mind is straight after the meeting.

You talk about volunteering as if he's been to Africa dealing with starving kids. He attended a meeting at the club for an hour that we'd probably all like to go to if we didnt have other commitments and I'm not sure why you're so triggered about me asking for an update.

He has time after to interpret and add his opinions as we all do. The initial take should be merely what was discussed. My last post on it, if you dont get it from this then you never will.

I can’t ask enough for people to raise stuff as it occurs not to wait
John Taylor has influence and wants to use it
He’s beyond exasperated with the train operators
The late cancellation of the service after the Derby game was the last straw really. No phone charge left so paid £50 to get a cab home!

Agreed. I've been on all sides of this equation as interviewer, hirer and interviewee - if there's any disagreement among the hiring panel - normally what happens is the most senior person will listen to all sides and then make the final decision themselves. This is ordinary.

and he doesn't have any other commitments? He literally posted all he'd done that day FFS.

Talking as if you're entitled to be impatient because he posted on here about other bits. Mad.

Questions For The Supporters Forum Meeting on the 28thNovember 2024

1. The Memorial Gardens at the CBS. The Club and the Arena were in discussion about working together to improve the area regarding memorial plaques etc? Are these discussions still on-going? (Diamond Club Members) – Meetings have taken place between the Club and Arena and progress is being made, conversations are covering a number of points including the administration / maintenance of the gardens and plans moving forward.Information will be share in due course.

2. Are there any plans by the train company to put an additional train on after the 3.00pm kick off games towards Coventry and Leamington Spa? The 16.50pm train means you have to leave before the end of the match or wait until 17.50pm to return to Coventry Station and beyond. (Diamond Club Members) The club have had a number of conversations with the train company regarding increasing the service on a matchday, we will continue as the benefits of this can be seen by all. .

3. Will the Premier League season tickets still be available next season (Welsh Supporters Club) All commercial decisions will be published ahead of the coming season.

4. Are there any plans to negotiate lengthening the current lease at the CBS before the end of this season? Securing a longer lease will meet the League’s requirements and secure the club’s long-term stability. (CCLSC & Welsh Supporters Club) - DK

5. Could the ban on player autographs/signatures at Supports Club player events be re-evaluated and possibly relaxed to allow 1 signature per child? (Coundon Supporters Club) – Supporter engagement is a vital for our club, we will be reviewing this area.

6. Road Closures: Although there has been a slight improvement in the delay (my calculation of the last two games was 23 mins for Luton / 21 mins for Sheff Utd). It still feels excessive. Are there any further plans to try and reduce this further? (Coundon Supporters Club) – The details surrounding the road closure previous published remain regarding supporter safety. The operation is managed by the CBS Arena safety team andthe operation is under their full control with this team holding the safety certificate for the clubs matchdays. The club continue to feedback and review. Its positive to hear that there have been some slight improvements to the closure.

7. Can you clarify the road closures? - Winding House Lane is clearly shown as closed on the website, yet every week more and more people are ignoring the closure and coming out of Burbages Lane and turning down Winding House at speed! (Sky Blue Talk) – This will be fed back to the CBS Arena safety team to review . Further comms will be published on this point.

8. Leamington shuttle bus service – Any news on this? (Sky Blue Talk) – The shuttle service introduced has been a great success. We are working on expanding the service as much as possible and Leamington is included in that review. We want to ensure that when a service is introduced its fit for purpose. Further communication will be provided on this service.

9. Can we have bigger screens in the concourse? (Sky Blue Talk) – We will review this and discuss with the CBS Arena.

10. How important is the Academy going forward? We seem to lose the best talents to bigger clubs and very few players have made the 1st team, so interested in your thoughts? (Sky Blue Talk) - DK

11. Have Fraser’s given a timeline on up-dating the stadium décor? (Sky Blue Talk) – We don’t have that information to hand, however, the club have been working with the CBS Arena management team during the summer and will continue to improve the experience for our supporters. The club in summer invested in the club branding around the stadium, mainly the players area and the infrastructure changes within the south stand. Projects are continuing to be reviewed.

12. Can anything be done about fans underneath the scoreboard when they are leaving the stadium and coming up against the flow of people walking towards Car Park A. One suggestion could be to remove the barrier / wall between blocks 12-13 and allow fans to walk on the interior side of the bowl rather than outside? (Sky Blue Talk) – We will review and feedback.

2.4-Roof issues covering blocks 21/22. JT confirmed that this issue has been passed onto the CBS management to remedy. JT pointed out that roof work of this nature can only take place at certain times of the year. JT encouraged all Supporters to keep letting CCFC know of any infrastructure issues affecting supporters on match day so they can be reported to the CBS Team.

3. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EFL Mandate).

Eamon Collins was introduced to the group as the new Disability Access Officer at CCFC. Eamon explained his background which included working at Premier League clubs Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. There was a general discussion about supporting fans with disabilities and being able to access the stadium bowl safely.

4. Club update by Doug King.

DK briefly discussed the removal of Mark Robins as manager of the football club and the recent Live Supporters Forum at the CBS that explained that decision. DK explained the process used to recruit Frank Lampard and his team. DK explained that it is never ideal financially to cut short a long term contract and replace key personnel but that investment was warranted at this moment. DK admitted he was surprised by the extreme reaction of that decision with the fan base but the decision whilst unpopular was in his view the correct one.
The plan is always to recruit well and ensure stability at the football club and the club does not want to be a revolving door football club with respect to their Head Coach appointments.
DK was asked about the relationship with Frasers Group and long term plans for the Arena. He responded that the parties continue to work well together, are in the second year of a five year agreement and had nothing new to add at this moment.

5. Submitted Questions.
The majority of responses were given by the club ahead of the meeting, see separate Question and Answers document.

6. Family Zone update.
LS thanked Janet Chamberlain and the Bedworth and Nuneaton Supporters Club for their recent sponsorship support of the Family Zone. JT/JJ explained there had been a recent review of the Family Zone and the outcome was that it was to transfer over to become part of Sky Blue in the Community (SBITC). This would allow Pat and Laura to benefit from the resources and advice of SBITC. Laura and Pat are supportive of this new approach. JJ and Laura briefly outlined there were new plans for the Family Zone which included a new permanent area for match days. Details are currently being finalised with Frasers Group.

7. Dates for Future Meetings.
The next meeting will be on the 25th February 2025 at the CBS at 6.00pm

8. Any Other Business.

1. Could future kit launches be brought forward to the early summer? DK explained this seasons kit launch was linked to sealing the sponsorship deal with Monzo. Early release of the new season kit is always a target but is directly linked to signing of any sponsorship.
