Relegation fodder (1 Viewer)

We’ll have to pick up form quick or it will turn toxic. King has invested and wages have gone up and if income drops because season ticket sales slump things could quickly implode.

On a positive note I think there’s room for improvement with a bit of coaching and confidence. The lack of movement off the ball, and willingness to backup team mates is staggering.

But as a whole we can't put 2 decent performances together, we struggle to put 2 decent halves together.
The squad is the reason we are in this position. Not good enough.
Lesser teams in the league...oh the good old we are too good to go down response. Are you sure there are 3 teams worse than us?
New coaches cannot polish a turd. Just hope they get to move some on and get in some players in January
Can't remember the last time we've been good for 2 halves.

Those show pony games are half the issue, bunch of posers.
I agree. I think our players either have some hangover or delusions of how good they are after the Wolves and Man Utd matches last season.
My hope is that a manager who as a player was st the top end will manage to sort there egos out

We actually have marginally better form than all the teams below us except Luton who still have a markedly inferior goal difference.

At what stage of the season do people admit we’re in trouble? December now and we’re treading water above the drop zone while struggling against seemingly every team around us.

I will say out of all of them, MVE’s performance was breathtakingly shit. Who is going to pay money for any of these players if we go down? It will just be Haji Wright who we need fit ASAP

They were all shit today. Saka, MVE, JDS in particular. No fight, losing 1st and 2 balls, disjointed play and movement and too much safe passing backwards.

No right answer but intrigued how you thought your answer explained why yiu thought we aren't relegation fodder. We all have our opinions, our delusions of choice
Do you know what fodder means?

Yes and we get to watch it as well on the pitch currently
I think you and the OP might not quite understand the term fodder

people must be watching a different team to me

these players are not as good as we make out

they have no fight in them. no passion and seems too many bad apples who think they are better than they are

that 2nd half performance was weak and that’s supposedly trying to impress the new man in

If this is our honeymoon period I dread to think how quick the divorce will be

It was bad today but actually from a relegation point of view an underserved point was actually an okay result. Kept Cardiff below us and somehow, despite not winning in the last 5 we have moved slightly up the table.

Even up until few weeks back I measured us by points off the playoffs. Relegation is still unlikely in my view but actually foreseeable now. Fail to win at West Brom and Millwall and an early goal for Mark Robins' Hull and you can foresee our fans losing it and the national press writing Lampard and the club's obituary.

BUT... come on guys. The new manager has had 1 game after 1 full days training. We'll all feel much better once he gets his first win under his belt.

I didn’t expect a win in the next two even when I was optimistic about winning today, I can see us not winning until the next home game and hope people have patience.

Well 2 of us think the same thing against 1 who doesn't. Therefore logic suggests you are the one with the misunderstanding. Ultimately it shows you have nothing relevant to say other than to try and discuss semantics. My question to you is what are you seeing that no one else is.You suggest a number of reasons why you do not think relegation is an issue but when pressed to further elucidate your thoughts simply start trying to pick a fight. As I said we all are entitled to our opinions all I have asked is for some more explanation from you to which you simply want to pick a fight

Performances matter too, and today was another steaming turd in a growing list of steaming turd performances. We used to get these perhaps once or twice a season under MR, it's now fortnightly.

The drop off in standards is startling.

It’s the profile of team, I’m telling you.

We just cannot seem to break down the horrible teams. Last season, it wasn’t a problem and this season it’s just really slow and poor.

The first half was decent imo, then the second half was just a of possession with no real clear cut chances.

We make life so difficult for ourselves conceding early in halves and constantly chasing games.

Defence and midfield was neglected in the summer and it really shows.

Major surgery required on our "Deck" in January if we are to survive this season.
We are seriously lacking in leaders, in fight and in Bollocks.

This "Deck" doesn't have what's required to dig themselves out of a hole, and I'm not confident that FL is the man to get a tune out of them, in fact I fear they will throw Frank under the bus.
Our “deck” is full of jokers and queens with no kings or aces. After selling Vik and Hamer, I was hoping our recruitment team would unearth more diamonds. But what I see are players with no heart although some may have potential in spades. Yet their performances have largely ranged from a 2-6, not 7-10. If this keeps up, salable assets will join other clubs.

Frank and his coaching team now know the scale of the task. That performance today so similar to other poor performances this season; second to almost every ball, conceding space and out of position defensively, not finding (or even looking for runners). Slow of thought and play.

Scraped a point against shite. Winning a late penalty as dubious as that one against Notts County. Lost to an awful Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. No real leader, no solid keeper, piss poor defence who can’t stop leaking goals. Timid midfield, toothless attack, all fans have to rave about is a quick runner who goes over when the wind blows.

I can’t see why people are worried either.

What was an average MR performance is this season our best, what was a once in a season abhorrence is now the norm. It’s crazy to see.

I can’t help but feel even if Viveash was a lot of it, this group of players is the bulk of the problem. They’re uninterested, cowardly, lacking fight. Just the basics. Serious surgery is required and January isn’t the time for it. I really hope Lampard has some strings he can pull in January to get an experienced pro or quality loanee or two who can change the mentality of the group a bit.

The first minute we arguably should have scored. Then like clockwork our left side of the pitch goes missing, they get a corner from which a free header from 6 yards is scored despite us packing the box.

To their credit, they equalised very quickly but followed it up by what you describe. Still looked very brittle defensively in the first half too and the alarming thing is how much time and space we give up in midfield. You can see opposition players surprised at just how much they've got, in this league you normally have players constantly on top of you and you're struggling for time on the ball.

The second goal punished exactly that, you just can't allow someone so much time in a good shooting position.
