Character. (2 Viewers)

We’ve created a laid back squad. There’s very little aggression. It’s why Bassette stands out even though he’s really just running about. Need some “dog” in Jan
You can tell Basette is 19. Has literally zero sense with his movement or nouse. He must burn silly amounts of energy just chasing the ball like a 6 year old.

OP here is lazy. We’ve pulled things back from many losing positions and that’s a sign of good character.

The issue is probably that they’ve been coached badly over the last 5-6 months, something the ITKs have picked up in previous insights.

I seriously think 2 experienced leaders will turn this squad around, one at CB the other in midfield, Sheaf needs to lose the captaincy ASAP, he's as weak as it gets. Kitching needs to get in ahead of Binks, has a mistake in him but I think he's a better defender overall.

Absolutely zero, honestly looks like the players don't care about the outcome. 10 mins to go, ball goes for a throw, Cardiff time waste while Rudoni looks the other way and Sheaf does up his shoes.
We desperately need some leaders otherwise this season could turn into a disaster.

I actually don't think we lack character. What we lack is organization. Yes confidence is low but let's not panic and throw the baby out with the bathwater!

There are obviously wider issues as to why Kitching isn’t playing, IMO.

Need a wanker in the squad to be honest. Someone who can kick off a bit and raise standards.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see Liam get another chance. I’ll die on this hill. He was a captain at Barnsley, surely he has more leadership skills than he’s shown here

If I remember right Barnsley fans thought he got worse when he got made their captain

Agree with most of that.
I'd be happy to see Sheaf out the door nevermind losing the captaincy and not sure about Kitching, too much noise about his attitude.
Could be bollocks but few alarmbells there.

Binks is a squad player for me but Kitching hardly seems like someone to come in and set an example.
I'd play him ahead of Binks every day.
I wouldn't make him captain though.

(Mind you, I'd play a blind dog ahead of Binks)

As someone else said on here the other day, they want to be big Premier League players, but they don’t want to put in the effort to get that.

I sincerely hope that Lampard has a nastier side than Robins did because these players don’t respond to the softly softly approach.
They need to be firmly told, shape up or shit out
Trust me Mark Robins could be ruthless when he felt the need to be.

Nobody is brave enough to have a shot or gamble
remember when sheaf had the ball at the edge of the box then took and extra touch to get even closer, then flapped it anyway and leathered it at Bassettes feet in the box and then moaned when he lost it

i think you’re way off here. I think he makes intelligent runs most of the time in behind but everyone’s too shit scared of having a gamble to thread it through

i also think they are probably being asked to press and he’s the only fucker doing it, which gives the appearance of him running around like a headless chicken cause no one else is supporting him

to be clear the jury is still very much out on him but he gets in great positions and harasses defenders often leading to us winning possession. got a bit of arsehole about him too which for inexplicable reasons rather than drawing it out of everyone else, somehow seems to alienate him a bit

Ok he's a liar and you guys are all right lol
i’m not saying that, i’m just saying it’s not like him praising their character in one of his first interviews when that’s been very publicly called into question recently, holds much weight

Most of the time you only need one or two real fucking leaders to drag everyone else up and create a certain mentality in a group. This lot just look lost without one.

that’s not their fault either by the way…everyone was saying we were screaming out for an experienced CM and CB with some leadership and they weren’t recruited

On this particular point I think you're right but believing everything people say to the press is a bit naive to say the least
It's not naive though is it? As he is saying what I said initially anyway

Of course manager won't always throw players under the bus and nor should they but as I said before evidence shows these players do have some character.

Believing everything said in the press isn't naive? OK.

Compare him to your username at 19 and the realisation we're clutching at straws will kick in.

You've taken what Lampard has said as gospel. That's fine, and I believe him myself, but there's no doubt these throw up a tremendous amount of bullshit and shouldn't be taken as gospel.
Have I not just said that some managers will do that?

He is saying what I believe to be the case anyway so of course I'm gonna believe him on this one.

But this was about your reply to Robbiekeane.
You've pretty much just acknowledged he had a point, but crack on, that's the last I'm saying on it
