Don't try play the innocently naive. Everyone can see what people are doing by picking specific games.

As I say I was Robins in, so it isn't about that. It's like saying Lampard had a 100% win record if you take the 85th minute onwards. Just gets silly.

I swear people don’t read the threads they’re replying to. Someone said there was no evidence of a turn around. I point to the six game period that was evidence and now it’s the wrong period, it’s cherry picking. You lot are hilarious.

What logic is there for excluding the Derby game?

Robins’ last 5 games: 7 points
Last 6: 7 points
Last 7: 10 points
Gets worse from there.

None of those totals can be described as playoff form.

The question was “was there at any point a sign things were turning around?” The answer is “yes, just before the Derby game”

Now you can say the Derby game makes it invalid, but that’s a different argument. There were signs of us turning a corner.

It's mad we're still debating it.

It definitely looked like it was turning around before Derby.

Both sides started the game very poorly, but you have to remember, we absolutely handed them a goal on a silver platter in the 11th minute.

Under Robins, so many times we only played well in one half. It used to frustrate me and annoy the hell out of me too, but that's a different argument.

Who knows how that game would have planned out if Rudoni hadn't gifted them a goal. We have no idea. But there was enough promise in the three games previous, to warrant Robins being given more time. We were unbeaten in 3.

Anyway, I keep saying we need to move on and we do.

Just find these threads rather irritating. 😂

Much rather talk about Lampard and where we go from here

It's not uncommon for struggling sides to have a slight surge over a few games.

I remember in the dreaded Thorn days we went something like 7 or 8 games unbeaten at one point in the 11/12 season.

So the spell pre-Derby doesn't really definitively point to a turn around. But take it however you want I guess, it's all conjecture anyway.

The Thorn team was a strange one. Nearly 30 points dropped from winning positions.

I certainly agree with the view that we need to give Simms a run of games.

Let him start and give his all for say 60/65 minutes. We then have the pace of NB and BT-A to deploy against tiring defences.

Needs a rocket up him. Both him and Wright remind me of Bakayoko but better at football.
Agree.A few of our players leave the field not having worked up much of a sweat.Like I've said before I put more of an effort getting there than some on the pitch.Alway remember Colin Stein coming from Rangers short on skill but big on heart became a fans favorite .

I’m sure there’s loads to it and it’s complex and everything, but in the face of it it really doesn’t seem too much to ask for people paid millions a year to run as much as they can for 90 mins a week. Loads of people do that for free down Park Run.

More like 120 mins a week, 2 games for 60 minutes if you are a subbed starter. If you played 90 mins first game, likely to be on the bench for the next one and get subbed in for 30 minutes.

It must be exhausting, poor lambs, despite their Premier levels of fitness.

According to the data fans on here the balls only in play for about 60 minutes each game so not even 90.So 1 hour a week HARD work from what I see of training while it's work not full on.

Which ones? This sounds like bollocks to me.

Wright for one if he loses the ball his effort to retrieve it is mostly non-exitistant he lets the player carry it forward putting more pressure on our midfield. He should watch Salah and Foden if they lose it they do their best to get it back.About the only time you see him in his own half is corners and then it's the done thing.
MVE his form has dropped off dramatically as has his effort, more times now we get the guy he's marking get to the byline and get his cross in rarely see the afterburner to catch an attacker and fewer overlaps.
We have Torp and Rudoni who cannot last a full game. One good half and then go missing.
Only my opinion but that's how I see it.

Players need to be as fit as possible. But do not assume playing a professional game of football is as simple as a run in thr park. Think fit and match fit. Nowadays it is full on and I doubt whether many of us could last 10 minutes in the professional game nowadays. The fitness levels are now astronomical compared to the 80s 90s 2000s etc. As a fan base we all love a trier someone who looks to put in 100% effort. Morrell, Biamou, Doyle but any players that are a little more languid looking we criticise John, Bothroyd etc. I think a player that gives you both with effort and skill is probably the difference between been a Gerrard or Lampard or a Stephen Hughes. But If a player does give there all nowadays I expect them to be dead on their feet after 60 mins

The players are at Premier levels of fitness thanks to the Performance Director according to Doug.

Not quite what Frank said in the press conference today mind you,

Not sure he’s saying they’re not fit more like they need to be fitter to play the high attacking press he wants to play, we haven’t got the players who can press for a start, not exactly sure what style we had under robins, but it didn’t involve working your bollocks off for 90 mins, not Something you can fix quickly,

Fitter than Premier levels of fitness?

From Todays press conference

An assessment of mine after the game last week, this league is ruthless in terms of that how you should be at peak fitness and sharpness and competitive to the second ball, so there’s been an element of that to our work.

That sounds to me like he doesn’t think they are at peak levels of fitness and they have done some work to improve that. Didn’t they bother before?

That was Dks comment, I wouldn’t read too much into that 😂 can’t say they’re not fit Frank wants them fitter, can’t be a bad thing

Lampard has been in the job for 3 days

We’re not in the relegation zone

We’re scoring plenty of goals

Our best player will return from injury soon

We’ve got Jan coming up to address issues with the squad

Stop losing your minds over a DRAW.

We’ll be fine this season. We’re not getting relegated. We’ve seen what these players can do. Calm the fuck down and stop shitting the forum up with threads about how all our players are shit and other associated bollox.

The defence is alarmingly bad and i think its affecting the rest of the team in a big way. Needs sorting out for sure.
Totally agree, if your defence is weak as piss and conceding the amount of goals we are at present its going to demorolise players into thinking whats the point, I know it shouldn't but its human nature, you are only as good as your worst player...in our case players!

Just for the record I don't think Robins was a failure here, he dragged us out of one of worst shitfest eras, reunited the fans (well some) gave us reasons to be proud but ultimately, although I didn't want him sacked, he ran out of ideas and we were starting to tread water, so it was probably the time for him to be replaced and bring someone new in to take us to the next level, not sure that will be Frank because of his limited success up to present but heres hoping!

To be fair when Ive watched them this season they look mostly knackered so improve the fitness equates to gain advantage..well thats the theory
