performance levels (17 Viewers)

We made a big deal of being able to attract a top performance director whose remit has been stated to included ensuring the players are as fit as possible and as mentally prepared as possible, not to mention being involved in the recruitment of the coaching staff.

All of those areas have been routinely questioned this season and stated to have regressed yet nobody is allowed to criticise the performance director without being labelled a misogynist.

In the midst of all this the performance director then takes on an additional role which may well not require much time but surely someone should have realised the optics of such an announcement?

The reason this has raised its head again is because in his press conference the manager has contradicted what was previously said by the owner regarding fitness. It's nothing to do with an agenda.
Hes always going to say something like that though, he has to explain why we are in the bottom third, and make out like he has a solution.

But as I've said numerous times, the bottom line is we've paid way over the odds for sub-standard players, and we've failed to adequately replace quality players like:-

Gyokeres
Hamer
O'hare
Palmer

Add to that the fact that certain players appear to lack motivation or form, such as:-

Simms
Sakamoto
Kitchin

And other players arnt up to this standard, such as:-

Dasilva
Collins
Wilson
Binks
Tavares
Allen

Add to all this, we've had next to no young talent comming through to stake a claim, we've got youngsters on the bench, but let's be brutally honest, they're just filling places and nothing else.

As ive said previously, No amount of training, or "sharpness" is going to change the above, all you'll do is polish turds.

Frank has 1 month to assess this piss poor squad and do something drastic in January.
And that (imo) includes persuading DK to use the loan market until we can rebuild (again) at the end of the season.

I find it interesting the lengths people will go to in order to argue that our poor performances, individual lacklustre efforts, and shite league table position have nothing to do with someone who's been employed as a performance director. She obviously has a role, whether it's 0.01% or 99.9%.

The lengths people and Doug have gone to in defending her, whilst at the same time wanting/sacking the manager, and having a go at the coaches for not being good enough is a massive double standard.

I don't want someone not to try and progress their career, but to take on another role at a time like this is a bit arrogant. Especially following my last paragraph. The room hasn't been read at all, and it is a bit bizarre.

You certainly can't defend her decision to take on another post, but maybe she's been told that Frank will bring in his own appointment in the near future.

It does sound as if her time here is coming to an end, but I can't pin any blame for our league form on her. It's far more likely that we've bought too many league 1 standard players, coupled with the loss of AV and his tactical awareness, the rot had set in before she arrived.

According to many on this forum, if its said to the media, it must be gospel!

Not exactly, I thought it was more about competitiveness to regain possession.

All of the white knights are out and defending very reasonable criticism of a performance director, who, since has been appointed, has oversaw in some %, a downturn in our performance.

The players concentration is a real concern especially when defending, concentration is a key part of any performance mindset surely to god.

At the rate it’s going, we are going to need to score 4 goals every game with Collins conceding 75% of shots faced.

Some people really exposing their ignorance here.

A non exec director doesn’t actually do that much.
