We would have been better off with Robins (9 Viewers)

Not writing Lampard off and here's here so he'll have my full support. But I don't see Lampard getting any more out of this group of players than Robins would.
How about we give Lampard 43 million and see what he comes up with, 100% it’d be better than this, we signed half of Barnsley’s back 4 and what a shock, we defend like a league 1 side, scraping players from Barnsley, pboro, and Huddersfield, shouldn’t really be surprised wer‘e struggling

That's the thing with Lampard, I think he'll get more wins than Robins against the poor teams, but lack the tactical nous to beat the better teams, which was Robins biggest strength - other than the first half Vs Luton in the playoff final, we always turned up in big games under Robins.

If you look at Lampard's first, fairly successful season at Chelsea, they finished 4th after he inherited the team that finished 3rd the previous season. He only won something like 1 game against the top 6.
I want him to do well I really do but I don't want a team full of loanees like he had at Derby.
Improve what we have , give us an identity and a style of play and I'll back him to the hilt

why are we here again??

Robins went because he fucked up the coaching team, coupled with a very poor run of games from Wolves last season to the day he went

King warned him it would happen but he was too stubborn to heed the warnings

would he have turned it around again? who knows, I doubted it this time round, did the poor starts
in the end affect our season? well arguably yes, we may well have been promoted without the shocking starts, but again who knows..

either way no point crying about it now

Struggling so much we've been Wembley regulars in the past two seasons ?

I hope I'm wrong but I can see the next 5-10 years of "high-profile" appointments failing due to high expectations from above .
Almost like deja vu

Yes, as soon as Robins was sacked, I feared the same.

You seem to think this current squad got us to a play off final, they didn’t, the only thing this squad has done was turned up to a few FA cup games last season and went on a half decent run for a few games, it started last season poor, finished last season poor and nearly half way through this season is poor again, so yes your right it is pathetic 👍

6 points in 6 games.

25 points by Christmas yeah?

More XG than the opposition, same as before. They will put this 'bad luck' on Lampard and he's been unfortunate. Players need to stand up and stop being weak as piss.

well if you’re saying what I think you’re trying to say then yes, legally a claim would need to be made, and I’m saying arguably, but my point is if it was all lies it’s pretty defamatory and I’m sure Mark Robins would have something to say about it
I’m sure he will put across his version of events at some point but it seems even if we take Doug’s comments with a big pinch of salt, MR got quite a bit wrong this year.

Let’s calm down!! For the sake of the club we need to have Lampards back. I am one that thinks we made a grave mistake getting rid of Robins.. Love the man for what he done for the club BUT let’s give big Frank a chance. He has just started, cut him some slack.. lets accept we may have to write off this season. Let’s not panic and take each game as it comes. As long at it’s not in the relegation fight. 😁. We need to get behind the team. Hate to go back to the bad old days.

I've tried.... I'm trying but I've been in the pub and still getting the "I can't believe you've swapped Robins for Lampard". Robins never really ever failed which makes it difficult to stomach but that is irrelevant now.

I think (ability wise) our players are better than how they are performing but something is still missing. I'd hoped we would have seen 3 honeymoon Spurs type performances.

The good news is that we could have won tonight and I'm hoping that Lampard can solve it. I'll be lying to say he has my backing 100% but apart from this needless reactive thread, he has my support.

Loathed to get involved in this thread as I hoped it would die a death but since it is now multi-page...

Come the end of the season it will be interesting to compare with Luton who were faithful to their manager. Not a direct comparable but we were above them when Robins was sacked and frankly looked a class apart when we played. They stuck with their manager and are just above us ATM but not significantly so. My gut says we'd have been a little better off over the 6 games with Robins but those would have come in the Carr era.

4 points from Lamps' first 3 games is okay especially considering the prep for Cardiff. I've not seen anyone outside of Leeds and Burnley that are a class apart from us (in very different ways). Next two are very winnable. If not, he should keep us up and we will have to see what the cup draw is like.

We're in this position because of Robins. He's turned these players into passive, slow, negative, scared, lethargic, walking football not allowed to take a man on, losers.

You watch training at the start of pre season it's slick one touch bang bang bang. I don't know why he did it but he's turned us into pedestrian football and that's gonna take any new manager longer than 2 weeks to resolve.

And tbh we need at least two new signings just to input some energy and desire into this lot who now are just stuck in a rut

Here we go again. Just as expected.

I didn't want Robins to go at all. But he has gone and we continue. I have liked a lot of what we have seen since Lampard took over. The problem is we haven't stopped the mistakes that are costing us.

The first goal last night was just unlucky. The second was the story of our season so far. But we had enough good chances to get something from the game.

We need to give Lampard time to get us playing the way he wants and to work out his best side. Other than the poor goals we keep giving away we're not as bad as our league position suggests. We go again at the weekend and hopefully a big win. Would be great for confidence and change the look of the table.

So when King spoke about how great the fitness of the squad was and Lampard questioned the squads fitness Lampard must have been lying as King always tells the truth?

As for better off with Robins, it's done, he's gone, we have a decent run of fixtures coming up, let's see what happens, but hopefully we start to turn things, around

And yet another over reactionary thread. You'd think we are cut adrift with 6 points the way some people react.

What was Lampard meant to do in the space of 2 weeks, have us winning every game 5-0 with out best player out, no new players and little training time?

We haven’t seen the difference yet. Robins was tasked with recruiting backroom staff and he couldn’t do it. No wonder the team is in disarray at the moment. Life ain’t about .xg Or predicting the results.

You may/may not have seen the energy coming from our manager on the touch line. Surely that bodes well for future team spirit.

Far too early to judgeLampard but energy on the touchline means fuck all.

This is going to be a personal circle of hell on here 🤣

Even if Lampard gets us into the playoffs and wins it, people would be arguing Robins would have won us the league.

I don't think this is very healthy or helpful to be honest.

Can't we just move on? He's gone and we have to get over it.
