He actually hasn’t, he played 8 games that season Swansea got in the playoffs. The season after, his break out season, Swansea finished lower than us conceding 68 goals and 64 the season after (2022/23) before joining us.

In fact, he hasn’t played a lot of CB in a back 4 outside of playing for us.

how old was he? And it’s 8 more than fucking Shitching has played!

It’s irrelevant, your point about Lati playing for playoff teams is just wrong. Kitching has actually played in a team that’s played playoff, albeit for Barnsley in L1. Their back 3 was Thomas-Andersen-Kitching and we tried to sign all 3 players that summer and was one of the best in the league.

Lati has only really played RB/RWB and CB in a back 5 rather than a back 4.

Agahahaha in L1. Fucking hell.

Yeah fuck Lati for never dropping to L1 and getting to the playoffs. Let’s sign Dabo he won the league!

So just for context, doing well in league one at 22 (I think), is a bad thing? Players don’t always have the same pathway as others but that’s means pretty much nothing in the long run. Hell take Vardy as the extreme example considering he’s close to overtaking Michael Owen’s record and he only got to the prem at 27.

Both are championship CBs at the end of the day, only difference is Lati got dropped to do it while Liam came up to do it.

Unhinged.

For us, we’ve kept more clean sheets playing Kitching than Lati that’s the bottom line and Lampard will see sense after seeing Lati’s defending last night.

Clean sheets aren’t an individual stat. Just like wins and losses aren’t. They’re a team stat. It’s absolute statistical illiteracy to put team results down to a single player. And yes this includes the golden glove, a ridiculous trophy.

We kept clean sheets last year because of the coaching. Not the players.

People want a stat like goals and assists for defenders because it makes it nice and easy but defence doesn’t work like that.

Neither does attack really, but at least with goals it’s indicative of the final input on the move.

I don't really get what Lati was trying to do with his body position here. He's showing Grant down an already difficult route to take between himself and Bobby. He doesn't have the agility to be able to reposition himself when Grant makes a basic change in direction. He wants Grant on his stronger right side.

LCB is an awkward position for him going by this situation.

Does this scenario result in a goal if we utilise our natural left sided players? I don't think so, personally - or it would have at least been more difficult for Grant to get a shot away.

He's slagging off Bidwell who has been in the play offs with 3 different teams as well.

Im saying Bidwell has been poor for a year and has never locked down his place since signing, but gets treated like a Maldini regen so people have a stick to beat Dasilva with and similar with Kitching and Lats.

Don’t disagree with this at all. Goal and assist stats look nice but there’s loads more to the game. On that note however as per my earlier post, Kitching has better stats imo over Lati.

Absolutely awful, he basically just gets in Thomas' way, he'd have done better without Lati there as he'd have just tracked the run himself. As soon as he becomes Latis man its game over. Just flat footed time and time again.

I thought Bidwell was steady last night & steady at Millwall
Dasilva can't defend in that left fullback slot. Surely you can see that much.

They’re a team stat, that is a given. Defence is a team effort and that trend is that we keep the most clean sheets with MVE-Thomas-Kitching-Bidwell.

Binks has 3 clean sheets in nearly 40 games, for the most part, he’s playing with the same players as Kitching (Bidwell-Thomas-MVE).

Back to Lati, he’s kept 5 clean sheets at CB, again, mostly the same variables. He’s kept more clean sheets playing RB which only totals 15 games.

Make sense of that…

Bidwell played 45 of the 46 games in the season we got to the play off final as well as all of the play off games themselves. How has he not 'nailed down a place'? He played 33 times last season after the initial experiment of using Da Silva was abandoned.

I feel as though I’ve not actually seen enough of Kitching to form a balanced view, despite the fact numbers wise he played a fair bit last year.

All for being a bit nastier on the pitch, but I have also heard from someone within the club he’s an absolute tosser and bad influence. Being that off the pitch doesn’t equate to being that on it. I personally don’t want any disrupters around the squad.

However, I wouldn’t mind him starting once or twice so we can actually get a decent perspective on his ability. Assuming he lasts the full 90.

As he’s becoming Maldini on here, as well as in his head.

I like Dasilva I can tolerate him on the pitch up the field where he can play his little 2 yarders into feet. But do not ever ever let him play left side of defence.
