Ayari started for Brighton Friday, played the 90 and created a few good chances. Only managed 1-1 at home against Southampton with the visitors having a possible winner chalked off by VAR.

There’s no doubt the guy gets goals and was confident he’d do well stepping down a league, he just couldn’t keep up in the championship anymore but happy for him finding his speed

He was struggling but he still did a better job in the lone striker role than either Bassette or Simms has shown so far this season. Intelligent player Godden, just a shame that even at his peak he just didn't have the physical capabilities to play at a higher level.

I was watching us versus Newcastle on YouTube, at HR 1984/1985, and the commentator remarked that Chris Waddle was a schoolboy for us but was ultimately released for ‘not being good enough’.

Is this accurate?

He wasn’t offered an apprenticeship at 16 apparently. So went and got a job in a seasoning factory.
