Good to see Mason-Clarke be the player that I always said he was, unfortunately he couldn’t play in his best position because of the form of Haji.

Hull really are poor. I struggle to accept that Oxford are worse.

If we miss out on the playoffs on goal difference, I will be annoyed that we didn’t put them to the sword in injury. We could’ve got four more.
Forget playoffs. We’ll be nowhere near based of what we have seen. Unless we recruit in January and nail it along with confidence in the team.

Well done frank got the result to paper over the cracks

we look a league one side and hull are certain for relegation, we’ve paid championship money for league 1 players and that shows

props to EMC had a good game

the defence is a mess, everybody is fed up of JDS, embarrassing

van ewijk is a liability

Thomas is ok but Binks kitching or whoever not upto it

Goaly is league 2 level at best and guy we signed is nowhere near this level

long contracts and a lot of mess for frank to sort out

Loath am I to stand in the way of new songs when the atmospheres have been pretty pedestrian recently….but I don’t like the new EMC song and it’s a bit lazy to be recycling the Fadz and Palmer ones too.

Part of the reason we have no songs is because every time someone makes a new one there are posts like this. People said the same with the O'Hare, Gyokeres and Hamer songs at the start but thankfully those moans were quickly hidden.

All three work well.

Living off that one good season at Boro where everything just clicked for him. Outside of that he's not done much.

Hull are the worst side I've seen us play this year

Unless they have a miraculous January, they'll be a L1 side next year
Their marking was shockingly bad. The number of free passes we had to an unmarked player on the flank was unbelievable for this level

Very surprised that people are unhappy with our performance, we completely battered them. We are still defensively fragile and that needs addressing but Hull literally couldn’t get the ball out their own half for most of the game.
Agreed. Trouble is for all the excellent play in attack we only have one defender who is any good MVE

Lampard has got them playing noticeably quicker which I have been desperate to see. Throw in's, goalkeeper clearances.

A massive feature of today's game, especially first half, was the problems caused by people running with the ball.
Pretty much every good attack was caused by someone getting at the ball and driving at the opposition.
Their no 2 particularly caused us problems.

Dreadful side foot pen.
Laces throught straight down the middle.

Just don't understand why he changed the way he takes penalties, Torp has scored two penalties for us and on each occasion has leathered it.

If he takes another one I don't think he'll be side footing it next time.

Good win today and we were good value for it, credit to the management for this.

However, it’s not all roses because defensively we look fragile which was epitomised by the handful of attacks Hull had.

I like Bassette and don’t want to criticise a young player that I believe will be a star… however, the balls we put in the box we’re definitely suited to a lot more to Simms imo - epitomised by the chance where he hit the post.

Can we praise the sleep coach now?

That's a good point, is it a lucky omen, squad staying in a hotel the night before a home game.

Be interesting to see if they do it for the home game against Plymouth on Boxing Day.

Glad we're playing people in their proper positions under Lampard. Will be interesting to see what happens when Wright comes back in. EMC hard to move or leave out. Definitely worth trying Wright down the middle again.
Hope he brings Dovin back in and Bidwell.
Then in January a quality box to box CM and a good defensive RB

I am going to incur the wrath of you amongst others now, but wouldn’t change Sheaf at the minute, he’s still shielding well even though he’s not creating much else, I think he is having an influence on the team

I worry Eccles would also affect Torp’s performance, at this stage of the game anyway

@Earlsdon_Skyblue1 you ok hun? Given the amount of reactions to my posts I seem to have been living rent free in your head the last couple of weeks ever since you went all in on Sheaf for some bizarre reason, is he shagging your Mrs or something and not letting you join in?

Sheaf isn't playing great but he's better than Eccles and the best 3 midfielders are starting currently.

Eccles will get his chance again at some point but it's obvious lampard can see this as a neutral rather than care he's an academy kid

please play simms.
please.
i like bassette, and he could well become a great player, but simms is better at the moment.
Is he? Still not looking like he wants to be involved enough for me. With his size and speed he should be trying to play like original Ronaldo every week

Don't get me wrong today's cameo was better than recent ones but I don't think it was anything that made me think he's better than basette right now

That said I'd also give him a start soon because he has got it in his locker to go on a scoring run

100% agree with all of this - I think some people are clouded by how good they know Sheaf can be, but even playing below par he is still very important to the team, and even if all he does is shield, break up and pass he does it very well…
