Season over already? (9 Viewers)

So is it?

Losing to wank teams like Derby, Weds and Pompey.

We’re far too good to go down but not consistent enough to charge up the table.

Rebuild season and get rid of a lot of shite.

No buys in Jan when prices inflated and Save the money for the Summer?

We ain't far too good with Collins, Binks, Dasilva and Thomas starting mate. That's 4 league 1 players right there.

This arrogance we are too good to go down, I am also guilty of, we have talents in Sheaf, Wright, Simms, Sakamoto, Bassette, who are top 10 talent, but then you have Collins, binks, Dasilva and Thomas who are absolutely and unquestionably league 1 football players.

I think this is the worst defence we have had in this division.

We need to add at least 1 cb and 1 cm in jan, or else we’re in big big trouble

Our club deemed Mcnally too expensive according to Austin, so we sign Thomas and spent 4.5 million on Kitching 😂 let that sink in. Ohh and he also decided against loaning Doyle back in because we don't do loans anymore, but we loaned Binks, he never played a fucking game cuz he was shite and yet again proceeded to sign him.

Football club ran by monkeys.

I would say, there are shitter teams than us, rather than "we're too good".

That being said, the second half is deeply concerning.

More than a bad day at the office, we didn't even look like we cared about thinking about trying.
Countless performances like that this season. Start a goalkeeper with a brain and it's the more familiar 2-1 defeat instead of the absolute hammering that it was.

I hope Collins never plays for us again, that is my strength of feeling, but look at the goals; MvE is outmuscled out wide before the shot for the first, Dasilva should be heading that clear and Binks should be quicker across for the second, free header for the third, fourth Dasilva let his man get in front of him easily and Binks ball watches as Collins fumbles it 40,000 times in succession before landing to Lang.

I went to Birmingham away, Preston away, Rotherham away last season, the 3-0 at Fleetwood etc... something was really rotten about the team in the second half today, and it is more than just a keeper, something is really wrong with the mindset of this set of players.

Today reminded me very much of the infamous trashing at Bristol Rovers under Russel Slade. Opposition fans and players just openly taking the piss while our own shrug or as the prick Collins did, laugh themselves

Yeah, we're done pretty much in terms of trying to challenge at the top end.

I think it's going to be mid-table mediocrity this season.

Got to sell us the dream for next year though, has our Frank.
A relation struggle I think and if we survive , (we will be in big trouble if we don't beat Plymouth next week ), we will finish few points of the bottom 3 I think

Absolutely it's not just the keeper.

That's as gutless a performance as I've seen from a team. I think we're in trouble. This team is feeble.

I think it’s very possible we drop to bottom 3, the warning signs are there already. It’s do we have the resolve to fight our way out of it with this squad. We have to back the manager and give him the chance to build his team but staying in this division is not to be taken for granted

Even our owner thinks so

“If you get to Christmas with Twenty Six points, the pressure will be triple, the players will be thinking about the summer and the season’s gone.”

Unless we can put together a cup run which at the moment seems unlikely. Sheff Wed (who have a really top manager) are playing so well, so we look royally screwed.
The players on paper are ok but the form and desire seems to be lacking.

It was over before Lampard came. We recruited a midtable side.

Over? We’ve got a tense, nail biting, heart attack inducing relegation fight to look forward to if things don’t improve
Bang on there!

We need to do what we can to get Binks, Collins, Thomas, Dasilva out the club.

We will be either relegated or just avoiding it if we continue with these 4 at our club.

It's not their fault at all, it's Austins and/or Robine fault for scouting and signing them.

They are and will forever be league 1 talent.

Its not fair on every single fan that has paid good money to attend games, purchase shirts, travel huge distances and all the expenses that comes with that. I feel sorry for every fan that got up at 5 this morning and drove down there, only to be handed that back, that's their Saturday gone.

Enough is enough.

We the fans need to do everything we can to get these 4 players to want to leave our football club. They won't leave because they won't get better wages elsewhere, unless we make it miserable for them.

Might sound harsh, but being on 10 grand a week and putting in the worst of the worst performances like that is to me 10x worse.

Fairplay to every fan who travelled down their today, hats off lads 👏

Got to get some steel and fight in the side. For a side to collapse mentally as we did as soon as the keeper messes up is very worrying. Equally to physically not compete during the second half and let a very average side run the show should set the alarm bells ringing. Not sure what Lampard can do to get these players running and working for 90mins without an overhaul of the defence and better quality in the midfield

Can see a clear out of wright mve sheaf going for fees, rest prob going for minimal fees or frees!

While that may be true I find it annoying that "talents" like Sheaf get away with almost zero criticism. He's not much better than a L1 player either at the moment. No fight, no heart, no leadership. He never will be dropped, but he should be.

In terms of Top 6? It was over fucking weeks ago, 11 points adrift - we ain't clawing that back even if we went on a crazy run I don't think it is enough

In terms of going down? Absolutely not, we need to fucking drop this dismissive attitude of relegation, I think we will be fine but I absolutely cannot rule out these players as it stands getting themselves dragged into the shit

Birmingham had the same cocky attitude towards relegation last season and look what happened, we can ill afford to do the same

Our last 4 wins have come against 10 men, 10 men, a team without any centre backs and a team on run of 12 games without a win. If we can get fortunate enough to find ourselves in circumstances like that about 6 or 7 more times this season we should manage to stay up.

For us to get into the play offs then an awful lot of teams above us are going to have to implode over the next few months .
If anyone still hankers for the play offs then I actually think that's quite natural given the last two seasons of optimism and some good results.
I think Lampard will still need to assess a lot of players between now and the new year. Games come thick and fast and he probably already has some idea where improvements need to be made but hasn't seen enough of the squad at match level to know whom needs a run and who needs to leave .
He hasn't got much time. We don't want to get sucked into a relegation struggle but I do think unless he is able to bolster the squad to play the way he wants we might. Mid table may be something less than acceptable but it will mean we've improved on where we are now.

Have a look at Ritchie for them today. Absolutely bossed us just by working hard. He’s a veteran. As Sheaf span around situations, Torp did his normal treacle running and Eccles looked bemused he just wanted the ball. It’s not a complex game.

Ritchie was the consummate professional at Newcastle and could quite clearly still do a job at this level

This poo-pooing of signing players in their 30s from our club needs to stop

Not comparable.

The reason we are a mid table side is because of the lack of fight, desire and mental strength. It's not quality (besides Collins and arguably JDS). We were plod a long this season picking up a win or two and that is the making of a midtable side.

Pompey battered us today because they had the fight and desire but it can be hard to keep that up when you've got poor players. Hence why they got smashed to pieces at Derby.
