If you’re a journalist in that press conference you’d be negligent not to ask a question about Rooney tbh.

Again - this is what we signed up for.

I am already so bored of being ‘Frank Lampard’s Coventry City’.

Not a slight on him being our manager, just sick of the club being reduced to Frank Lampard FC.

You can ask about Wayne Rooney and of course it was going to come up, but should be no different to asking about Michael Carrick when we play Boro for example

When it comes to things like 'Do you know how many times you play with him for England' and 'Did you ever talk together about becoming managers', load of bollocks!

Rooney is orders of magnitude more famous than Carrick. It’s inevitable that any matchup between him and Lampard is going to be framed in those terms, especially for the casual/neutral fan.

How about did you ever shag his mrs or did you ever have a threesome

Lampard looked quite irritated to me, more generally than with the awful questions from Turner.
More of the same words from him
"Still early"
"More work"
"Knowing the job he has on his hands"
"All games aren't easy"

In a years time he will he saying the same shite, he did at Everton and Chelsea.

TBF they are all true.
He has been left a shit show. Let's see what he can do with this shower and what he does in January.
I wouldn't say I'm over optimistic.

He didn't. He spoke more about what was happening on the training ground at Everton and at Chelsea about their terrible injury situation at the time

Rob Gurney just can't divorce his fanship from his job. That question about not going to the fans. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Valid to ask why he didn't go to fans isn't it? People were defending it on twitter saying he had to go and do a Sky interview but he didn't show up for that until late in the day so it wasn't that.

I don’t have a problem with Frank going straight down the tunnel. I imagine he was fuming, as was I and people react differently but I just hope he let the players know!

Why does he have to go to the fans?
He doesn't, but if he doesn't and it becomes a talking point on social media, which it always will do because it is expected of the manager to show some appreciation to the travelling fans, then its valid for the local media to ask the question.

Of course he was fuming, like the rest of us, he had to gather his thoughts.

Is it the hair dryer treatment or throwing cups around.

Whichever it was, it has to be kept in the dressing room.

I'm more interested on what he does in coaching sessions with his staff to be honest, but that will take several weeks.

I also hope that the 2nd half at Portsmouth is our nadir as it was even worse than the home performance against Derby under Robins and that was bad.

Players need to be told that performance just isn't acceptable. It is a tough league, you will lose games.Players will make mistakes. But when they do, I expect a reaction from the player and also the team. They may not turn it around but at least up the tempo rather than capitulate.

I think we managed one cross and one shot in the dying minutes, our sum total of attacking football in the 2nd half.

Early days for Frank and his staff, but they can't have a repeat of that going forward.
