There are people transporting themselves to hospital with common cold symptoms, crying flu. Why?

I've been feeling cold/flu like since couple days after Millwall, n still feel crap now. Had a few days where I've struggled to catch my breath, but in general don't feel terrible. Just riding it out til maybe early next week and see how I feel.

I understand the flu vaccine is always a bit of a best guess as no-one really knows the mutations over the coming winter months. They are usually a live vaccine but doesn't always give full immunity.

I think it is about normal


The annual vaccine is based on what was circulating in the southern hemisphere during our summer. It is always a bit of a punt and can't cope with new strains, but these appear less regularly than with coronaviruses, etc.

People complaining they had to work the whole day Friday before finishing until the 6th. Also the increasing number of people who seem to get the entire week before Christmas off as well, so many people I've been trying to contact who finished on the 13th!
