Genuinely not sure if you’re trolling or insane at this point.

So let’s get this straight.

You think Robins was sacked specifically to bring in Lampard?

And his sacking had nothing to do with with results?

I don’t think anyone has said sack Lampard but there has been no improvement under him based on the busy Christmas schedule

5 points from 12 against the opposition we’ve faced is not good enough
how’s he supposed to improve that team, missed Clark today and we’re always going to miss wright, but he’s got some shocking players to work with, at least half that team today shouldn’t be starting

I think results were a pretext yes. I think Lampard was lined up well before Robins. But that’s not the point. Once we’d decided to sack him we went for a name is the point. Doug gives me Ranson vibes but with less football knowledge.

I don’t want us to go back to 2009 CCFC. That’s been my entire point all along.

Going for a name after we sacked Robins is not the same as sacking him for a name.

If you don’t want to go back to 2009, support Lampard and give him a chance. That’s my point

I said when he came I expected to see an improvement by Jan, not a revolution, but signs of progress. Players even just individuals upping their game, better patterns of play, more defensive solidity, anything to show he’s a positive impact on the team. I haven’t seen that. We’ve got worse in almost every area.

I don’t see the logic in throwing tens of millions and two years at someone who has given you no sign they’re up to the job.

So do you think we should get rid of Lampard?

Im on the fence. At the moment I wouldn’t spend a penny on him until he’s shown some level of ability.

How do you expect him to improve a team without money?

If your not going to.back him financially, why bother bringing him in?

You can't expect him to some how, miraculously turn a sow's ear into a silk purse.

I think it’s clear now most of the players just aren’t good enough. It’s not on Robins or Lampard.
Two points of order:

1 - the quality of players in this current squad most definitely is on Robins

2 - the whole point of replacing Robins is the belief that another manager can get better results from the same set of players. If Lampard can’t do that, then that’s definitely on him

Because you think he’s going to do better than the guy you’ve sacked?

By this logic why not keep robins and back him in Jan? Why sack any manager ever and not just give them more money?

Coaching. Tactics. Motivation. All the stuff you have a manager for. FFS Robins got us from L2 for a packet of polos and a safety pin.

Robins was allowed to bring in a whole new team.

The shower of shite he inherited wouldn’t have achieved what he did

We can quibble about Austin/ Robins on point one, but same difference I guess, and I’d say this is the most sense anyone has uttered all afternoon 😁

isn’t that the point of Lampard to come in?
That’s what king said. he’s bought in Lampard to change things

nothing has changed

we’re on the points king didn’t want at Christmas/newyear

whole point of a coach is to improve things

you clutching straws then

he’s done everything you’d expect from a keeper

we’ve played 2 poor teams who didn’t really make him do much so you saying that proves my point

Harsh. Thought he was good today and saved us a couple of goals.

We’d have lost today with Collins in goal

I think doug thinks the idea of a big name brings more attention to the club , potentially more investment and it improves our standing in the world of football
