Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already (3 Viewers)

Is it appropriate for someone who wishes to serve as a politician in this country to cheer on a foreign power looking to overthrow our government and destroy its economy?
I’ve clearly stated that I do not like one country bullying another country and don’t like the idea of Royal Canada becoming part of the USA which would weaken the commonwealth.

So….show me where I’m cheering on a foreign power?

Starmer, Lammy, Khan and the remainder of the genius squad spent years spouting off about Trump. They may well have believed that the chances of Trump being reelected were slim at the time and also their chances of being in government slim too.

But a chance there was. It shows a staggering lack of common sense to risk US/UK future relations by gobbing off for likes from fellow lefties.

That’s who we’ve got running our country; gobshites, and now we look weak and ridiculous.

Prove me wrong?

I’m clueless on this stuff but what I see today is that Trump refuses to rule out military force to take over Greenland and the Panama Canal, also wants to annex Canada

Add the inflammatory, racist, ramblings of Musk and all in all it’s pretty depressing to see what’s coming down the track in the next four years.

It’s genuinely beyond me how anyone could be in favour of all this stuff going on- not about right or left, more about having dangerous nutcases running the world.

I think we all know why Trump was threatening Canada

You said that the United States forcing our government to step down and "making the economic viability of the UK untenable" (sic) would be the British government "getting what they deserve".

Personally I think that's a strange attitude towards a foreign power immiserating millions of British people and imposing regime change via economic sanctions. Especially for a wannabe British politician.

See previous post. This is being very badly reported. He’s threatening sanctions if Greenland wants to leave and Denmark doesn’t let them.

Maybe so. My point is that I personally find it a bit bloody bleak that all over the world there are nutcases running countries, power & land grabs are going on, social media gurus are influencing entire countries- it’s like society is visibly regressing and the only thing that matters to many people is a hard-wired, immovable desire to protect whatever side they’re on, be it left or right. Sticking up for the team is more important than anything.

like this Philosopher guy- I’d be interested to understand why he’s a ‘fan’ of Musk & Trump apart from because they’re on “the right” and they “wind up lefties”. Is that it?

It’s extremely bleak. I said before I think the only way out of this is an extreme crackdown on social media and a return to trusted institutions but that’s far easier said than done.

Musk would hate Philisopher as he’s part of the woke right and Musk has been very clear on his view of them.

A pretty damning quote from BoJo - “a quite stupefying ignorance that makes him, frankly, unfit to hold the office of president of the United States.”

Oh boy. “Let the likes of they BBC be the arbiters of truth”

Zuckerberg has just admitted that MSM bias was wrong and introduced a community note system.

Lefties:

“I don’t like what people are saying”.

You are the most spectacularly naive man I’ve ever met. And all evidences shows that social media is the mainstream now. You’re the one following the MSM narrative not me mate.

Have you worked out why all your views align with Putin yet or still scratching your head?

this is exactly what I mean. I ask what it is about Trump and Musk you like, and you immediately reduce it to “left v right”.

Social media is more than ‘mainstream’ now, it’s how most people get their info about what’s happening in the world, and unfortunately it’s also where most people pick up their views. Someone like Musk can influence entire countries.

You just want revenge and reparations from anyone who has half a crown more than average wealth.

He did when he reached the higher tax bracket start a thread on any ideas to dodge paying it.

I’m just glad the people of the USA decided on who they wanted president and didn’t take any notice of the people on ‘skybluestalk’

They decided who they wanted last time too. How do you feel about Trump and his supporters trying to overturn that result through violence?

Bluntly, if you support Trump, then you don't really support democracy or the rule of law. That's fair enough, unless you pretend otherwise, in which case you're a hypocrite.

He was democratically elected so it’s something of a stretch to say half of the US are hypocrites

Surely voters of all political persuasions are routinely hypocritical? It’s not a surprising charge.

The poster claimed you are opposed to democracy if you voted Trump. Seems strange to say that

Typical loser mentality, don’t get the result you like or want so you just moan and complain
