Emc is so confident now. Using his strength and dribbling all the time.

I have to say, EMC been good the last 4/5 games and long may it continue. He’s starting to look like a £500K player and he could go on to be a great Championship player.

As soon as Wright drops a few stinkers in a Central position, EMC will be back on the bench.
Maybe you shouldn't have written him off

Yeah I thought that was the case. Even though he’s not scoring, it would be harsh to drop Bassette at the moment.
Why? What does he actually offer apart from running at defenders and GK?

If Simms put in that performance he’d have been slated. Simms looked a lot better when he came on in a half where, let’s be honest, had petered out.

He’s a good talent but not good enough (at this moment) to start for us.

500k player? How did you work that out?

Do you really think Lampard will drop a player who is scoring or assisting, sometimes both, each game? Teams are putting 2 or 3 players on him and still can't stop him. Not bad for his first season at this level.

If he continues like this there's going to be a fair few clubs interested in him. The sky is the limit. A player that frequently scores and sets up goals that isn't a striker will always be in demand.

I thought he was utter shit but he’s been decent in the last 5 games to be fair to him. People like yourself talking him up like a world beater is the conversation that needs to be tempered. If Wright can’t do it down the middle, EMC will be back on the bench.

That said he’s not built like a Premier League player, he’s built like he should be on the doors of a chippy on Spon street, so can’t see anybody above the Championship ever touching him.

World beater? Calm down. I said if he continues scoring and getting assists every game that a fair few teams will be interested, and not for the 500k you quoted. There's no Barcelona or similar hidden in there.

Explain why Lampard would take him out of the side hoping that the player that would replace him would do just as good. There's enough room for more than 1 player on the left if needed.

honestly tho, lets say wright comes back in a couple of games time, and EMC is back too, how do you play them both?
i thought when we signed wright he was a striker, and he almost fell into a winger position as simms was in form, could we play EMC on the wing and wright up top?

Depends on a couple of things now both are injured. Whoever returns first will have the LF role. If they strike up good form again there and kick start either Simms or Bassette into scoring form, then the other may have to wait.

There’s absolutely no chance that they’ll have to wait

they are our two best forwards, they both start regardless of Simms and Bassette

What if say Wright returns first and him and Simms start clicking again? EMC would have to wait wouldn't he?
No, you’d either play 4-4-2 or play one of them on the right, most likely EMC.

Sakamoto, all due respect, isn’t better than either EMC or Wright. We need directness on the wings to take players on because without EMC or Wright, we don’t do it enough.

I reckon he could be effective on the right too. His uncertain early performances were as much to do with adjusting to the league and the team as playing out of position IMO. People were so unfair to him, concentrating on a few little mistakes and seemingly blind to what he can do. It's traditional on here.

I actually liked him on the right and didn’t think he was anywhere near as bad as people made out. Had some good performances from there and was always trying to drive into the box. Granted he looks better on the left but I always thought the criticism on the RW was a massive overreaction.

Well that's it though. We don't know he be a success on the right. If he is then brilliant. But if he isn't, then we shouldn't be shoe horning players into positions.

It's going to be interesting to watch. I suspect Wright will go central with license to rotate with EMC.

Players also just need a run in the team, how many games did he actually play RW for us?

As soon as Lampard put a bit of faith in him to start games, it paid dividends. The main things we see from him; coming to the back post, high volume crosses and lots of dribbling attempts, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be able to play RW.

This applies to both Haji and EMC, the way they dribble, their body mostly opens up as if they want to cut in so it could be argued that won’t translate as well for either of them at RW.
