it's bollocks as well

i'm putting him on block as he's now posting utter bollocks daily for attention
I think it should be taken with a pinch of salt. I don't necessarily think trying to get rid of a few is a bad thing tbh. If we get this supposed couple of million for Lati we've played a blinder.

No mate, he covered the losses.

The club lost £5m that FY, and that includes making a £2.4m profit from Hyam so it's more like £7m

Basically you don't understand that the club just loses money every single year and Doug has to cover that before he can even think about adding extra finance in for buying players.

edit: operating loss for 22/23 was £7.8m. 21/22 £5.6m. That doesn't include player trading. When people complain about Doug "not putting his own money in" he is covering those losses?

No Championship clubs run a profit. You can’t buy one then complain it’s costing you money. Thats the game. Go buy a self storage company or something.

With the championship squad rules, we are allowed 25 players over 21. We already have 24, so only have space for 1 more player. This is why it will be 1 in 1 out. Nothing to do with running out of money.
I’d be half tempted to unregistered one of the goalies and just use use of the U21 Keepers to bench warm if needed

we do need to move players on but not because we are "skint"

we have limited squad places left and say if we sign a cb and don't move anyone on we have too players in that position

Who's complaining? It's internet rumouring.

People are complaining on behalf of Doug.

All sounding very Sisu right now. Any owner will lose money unless they get us promoted. If they haven’t got the smarts or the cash to get us promoted then the clubs debt will rise.

Football chairmen complaining about putting their own money in (as Doug did at the forum) are like sailors complaining about the weather.

I agree. But I don't think we should be expecting him to do more than that?

I think he should have a plan to get us out of this division. There’s no good in being midtable championship for years. That way administration lies. You’ve either got to fund the club to get promoted (or hire a manager capable of doing it cheap), or you’ve got to get relegated and make us sustainable. There’s no middle ground where you don’t overspend and stay up let alone competitive.

Have we not overspent to get into this position though and look where it’s got us.

Maybe a period of self reflection and full review ready for the summer would put us in better shape than going out and overspending on more shite?

Are we overspending? Or is that just what spending in this division looks like?

I'm sure he has a plan.

If you're being cynical then now probably isn't the moment to spend anyway. Our playoff chances are slim to none, so no point paying inflated prices in Jan for players.

Get a few loans in and evaluate Lampard's performance over the rest of the season. Then if we're happy with him in the summer that would be the time to spend some money on players for him.

I would argue we’ve spent a lot of money on this squad compared to other squads

Where would our spending put us compared to the other non parachute teams. I’d assume we would have spent more than sides like Boro or Ipswich last year?

If not fair enough but my understanding is we’ve spent high, got low and now we need to know whether or not to keep spending especially now we’re we haven’t apparently got any internal funds.

My error

King has lent CovCityCo Ltd the new parent company £60500000 which is repayable on demand

CovCityCo has lent CCFC Ltd £6000000 which matures on 16 Feb 26.

What happens if DK calls in his debt to CCC L early?
Doug have to find the funds to pay himself the loan I’d imagine. Or he’ll just demand it when the club is sold?

With the squad being unbalanced it really doesn't help the recruiting side of things. That really needs to be sorted and certain players need to be moved on as part of the rebuild because that's what it is..

The point I was trying making about not going tomorrow was more to do with the disillusioned feeling within the fan base and how a signing (or the rumours of one at least) can help turn that around after the low from Saturdays melt down. Granted it does not come across that way on my initial post. On tomorrow, yes I will be there (and paying £35 for the privilege for my seat in club cov may I add the robbing bastewards) as I will be at Blackburn, and have been at all but 1 away game this year.
Glad you are a diehard fan. The disillusionment is often generated by social media. DK is this, DK is that, we're signing no-one, signings are rubbish etc. It's virtually impossible for any club to keep on a constant upwards curve, and it will have to ride out the odd storm ( a minor one imo). Anyway fair play to you in terms of attendance 👍
