Don't get the DK hate - he never said he’d throw loads of his personal wealth at transfers did he?

He cleared c£60m of debt. Funds our losses. Sold assets (Vic and Gus) re-invested pretty much all in new players (identified by recruitment and Robins) and spent money on the training ground.

Being pissed off with no more investment from his pocket is unfair. Also we want to be sustainable don't we? Not reliance on an owners wealth. See also Stoke.

Sacking Robins is a gamble, but he's the owner and will suffer if wrong so its in all our interests that he's made the decision - not just the fans.

Also the recruitment (D Austin) may well have been decent looking at the fees we maybe recouping if we do sell. So the (his) model would be working. But the results on the pitch (managers) are still frustrating.
Agree with all of this to be honest.

I would argue we’ve spent a lot of money on this squad compared to other squads

Where would our spending put us compared to the other non parachute teams. I’d assume we would have spent more than sides like Boro or Ipswich last year?

If not fair enough but my understanding is we’ve spent high, got low and now we need to know whether or not to keep spending especially now we’re we haven’t apparently got any internal funds.

And we never NOT going to spend that windfall. This time last year we would have said it was money very well spent - Simms, Wright, Saka, MvE all doing well - even Kitching and Thomas relatively good.

King couldn’t have predicted sexual infidelity from bloody Robins and Adi (of all people ) would wreck most of that.
Then by his recruitment team failing him at the end of summer it pretty much put us where we are.

Suspect we won’t get funds to splash out on like that for a long rime now - the Vic money being the only lifeline really.

And I don't get the amount of people with their tongues so far up his farter they're licking the back of his tonsils but there you go!

Fact is whist Dean Austin is identifying the players no manager will succeed. His appointment is on both Robins and King. Now we are shopping in the bargain bins again can we bring back the guy who spotted Hamer?

This is interesting, I wonder where we would be with wages in comparison with the rest of the league. You generally think high transfer fees = high wages, but I would hazard a guess we would be mid table perhaps ?

Theyre never accurate but the latest estimates put us bottom six iirc. I imagine that’s before this splurge tho

Let's hope that lessons have been learnt and any future returns from player sales are spent wisely. Will be interesting to see the type of players Lampard approves to come in. We can't be doing with any more BTA's JDS's

The thread is as bleak as the season. Ten days, nearly 100 pages, and Kai Andrews has gone on loan to Motherwell.

We can't compete in terms of big money transfers, it's going to have to wait and see what's left that don't cost a lot... Doug going to have to bite the bullet and let Lampard bring in some loans probably.

Just a thought, what would everyone think of Ben Chilwell apparently he's available from Chelsea and wants to leave or Would he be to injury prone?
Obviously would be brilliant if he came here but I think that I've got more chance of going to the moon than that happening

You've got one side calling him a tight fisted soyboy cuck who needs a bollocking and the other saying maybe he's not that bad

But apparently the ones defending him are being ridiculous?

I'm not talking about people defending him when they think he's in the right, (I've done it within the last week), I'm on about those that defend him no matter what.
They're probably having an inquiry into why you beat them responding to my post!

To be honest the guy that got rid of the last set of owner has a lot of “brownie” points (excuse the pun!) / political capital to burn through before he may be questioned more.

But if anyone has a billionaire investor mate, who’s morally satisfactory, can master FFP and wants to pump vast amounts of money into a provincial club - id on board!

Not really.

I see people calling out hyperbole from others (he's too tight and all that sh*t), I've not seen anything on here that comes anywhere close to how you've characterised it. People on both sides of the argument baiting each other indirectly is getting so f*cking dull.

See my response to Cam. And there are definitely posters who fit that description
