Heard a few people say Torp was good but seemed pretty anonymous for large parts of the game. Rudi and Da Silva seemed to connect well. Battling win but we deserved it.

What?????
He was literally at the heart of everything in midfield! He plays quick 1 touch passes that means he's not dwelling on the ball enough to get mentioned. But he was involved heavily throughout.

Really gritty game today, both teams playing the high line. These are the sort of games it feels good to win.
Some suicidal passing going on for both teams around the back, i think a better side would have punished us. None the less we dug deep and got the result.
Not sure what's been said on here, did anyone else feel like they were playing in almost a panicked manor? You can see the lack of confidence coursing through the team at times. A little composure when shooting could have seen us test the keeper a lot more than we did.
Thought Dovin, Kitching, Torp, Allen and Simms all had good games today.
They were targeting that left side again, but its so much better with Kitching sat in behind JDS.
Good to see they didn't make the same error in taking Simms off toward the end, helped keep us from sitting too deep and gave us an outlet in that last 10 minutes, we found ourselves looking for a second instead of inviting pressure.

Can we stop with the whole ‘people on here want us to lose / are disappointed if we win / want to be shit so they can moan’ spiel.

It’s absolutely nonsense and we’re getting to a point where things are binary ie negative comment about the performance -> agenda -> wants Lampard to fail.

To even waste your time reading this forum, never mind posting on it, shows how obsessed we are all with this club.

Nobody on here wants us to lose.

We’re having a bad season compared to the last 2, some of the posts about players have been embarrassing the last few weeks, every single player today worked their bollocks off, it wasnt pretty but they got us the 3 points, time to stop slagging players off and get behind them,
Yup as I have said all season long it's not a bad squad.

Posters saying they personally dislike the player have their own issues they need to work though I think

Agreed

Thought we missed an experienced head towards the end, it all got very panicked when ideally we missed someone who could put their foot on the ball and slow it all down.

Also we need to do some shithousing like taking a goalkeeping "time out" to steady the ship when under pressure.

Spot on, and all the fans wanting assante out the door, he’s worked his bollocks off today, one of our best players, how about we let Lampard pick the team and we just get behind it, players and fans today…. brilliant

Great to see us dog out a 1.0. Better team won.

clear we are lacking so much confidence in many aspects, as others have said. But it’s a start, got back up Tuesday, point be great effort.

Dovin excellent, mentions for kitching (not fan, but credit) and Allen, and well done BTA, especially if that’s to be one of final appearances perhaps.

See you at Blackburn!

Yeah, it's times like that when you can see we need some more experience in the squad.

The keeper trick really gets under my skin, and i really hope it's something that is looked into for next season, but you are right, while everybody else seems to be doing it without consequence, then we may as well resort to doing what we can to ensure victory in those final minutes.

I said some time ago, the way to shut any critics up is by winning football matches. The problem this team has is doing that for 2 or more games on the bounce, so let's take it a game at a time.

Always looked on the positive side, that performance wasn’t great but the heart was there, I got the piss took out of me for saying Allen would make a difference, add EMC, wright and sheaf to that team today and we’re not looking bad, some of our fans should be embarrassed, back every one of those players, like you say, same effort against Watford 👍

I did ask some questions, but nothing any different from him really on the transfer front.

He's adamant we are talking with 2 players in particular that have been ongoing for a while. There are loan dealings being worked on also.

Nothing different on the Lati situation, just what he told me from the start, that there was concrete interest from 1 championship team and 1 abroad. I asked him if it was Burnley, he said he hadn't heard it was them.

There is interest in BTA but no official bids received according to him.

Loan approach for Kitching rebuffed, which we now know turned out to be Blackburn.

No official bids for MVE.

I thought Dovin was holding on to the ball a goodly amount of time once we were ahead so we could get organised, which had quite a calming effect.

Managed to sneak in a pork pie, small quiche, pack of quavers, 4 wagon wheels and a mini bottle of red. Possibly one of my best days in recent history.
I did notice that that a woman walked in with a bottle of water and a big coffee from Costa. Was like wtf

I said to my dad, i feel so much better with him in goal. I know what you mean about him bringing a calmness. I've been watching him, he seems to be a lot more vocal of late, the saves he is making must be giving him so much confidence too.
