Wasn't to long ago he scored 2. He will get back in at some point. Just needs to play well

Today yeah he messed up when refused to release the ball but I liked his no nonsense clearances at the end

Looked off it today and has been poor for a few weeks, but along with Wright was one of the best players for the first 15 or so games. He'll come good again.

he was also very good at home to Plymouth

Again..like Torp he did a job ...of all the positions...coming on and playing on left hand side is his least favoured position. Why cant peeps actually look at where je was asked to play ffs.
Regardless of where you play, you should be able to keep, shield and pass a ball. Looked knackered the minute he entered the pitch.

The amount of shit emojis I got for not worshipping Eccles, he seems a great lad, works hard but he is a bench warmer at best not a starter and yesterday showed that..he nearly cost us dearly when the simple option was available.

He is capable of being a championship midfielder. Has shown that with his goals and assists already this season. Just needs to work on his all round game and stop thinking he's better than he is that's all.

Probably doesn't help when you have middle aged men wanking about him because he came from academy.

I’d been impressed with Eccles this season, however in recent weeks (yesterday and Norwich in particular) he has seemed to struggle coming off the bench and getting into the games.
He’s better starting in my opinion - not saying he should be as Torp and Allen have fared well.

I fear this actually could be the case as well, as an emergency option ok but no way a long term fix
Himself and Burroughs there if mve goes this window until we get proper cover in the summer

He's been excellent for us.

He's allowed to be out of form though. Happens to all players at times.

He was constantly putting in very decent performances, but is now struggling with form.

I still highly rate him. And maybe Lampard is asking different things from him and he's struggling to adjust, I don't know.

He will come good again, I believe.

watching the Leeds game, and Ao Tanaka (who we were rumoured to be interested in pre season) is head and shoulders above Eccles, and just what I would hope Eccles would be, and he only cost £3M

I just wonder how some people can think Josh is a premier league midfielder worth multi millions when you compare him to some of the similar players in our division

If Lampard doesn't see him as a starter going forward we should really cash in on him for £5 million pounds to a lower half premier league team

He's too slow in thought and speed who rarely imposes himself consistently on a game for the whole duration.
He's a very very average Championship player who just happens to play for his hometown club and imo that clouds some people's judgement of him.

Eccles will bounce back. He will get another chance. We have few midfield options and it’s still one of our weakest parts of the pitch. His chance will come.
Midfield of which he is/was a regular starter 🤔

Careful squire-you’ll have the vultures circling with that post.

First time Eccles has not improved year on year. Either the natural drop in form that all youngish players experience, something gone wrong in his personal life or he is not happy with the new set up.
Hopefully the first and he will bounce back soon.
