I think we were much more attractive when King took over, on the up, valuable players, respected manager, skint desperate owners. If we couldn’t get any serious offers then I’m not sure why we would now. Would love to know why though, on paper we’re a good investment. One club town, decent sized stadium, one season from the big money.

To play devils advocate you could say that the club has now proven that it can have near sell out crowds most weeks, a lot of the off field heavy lifting has been done ( training ground, clubs commercial offer, professional playing infrastructure ) and it has £40-50m in playing assets.

However I do agree most new owners go after a club that is on its knees as they get it for a knock down price.

The Art of a deal, not a rich man's play thing? How did he get rich,by buying distressed companies, which now we are in terms of spends, maybe Sisu have taken their bit out of transfer fee's purported and they're now satisfied?

Well we were not that attractive as we were for sale for years before we found a buyer or at least one Sisu would deal with.

Because there was a £60m/£70m debt owed to SISU (or who ever their parent company was).

King has cleared that (probably due to business dealings with SISU on the cheap) - like it or not he would be part of the answer to getting a “good” owner.

So he's done a great deal of securing the future of the club already.

King maybe ain't the messiah but 'he bought Sisu out', and is clearly a decent businessman. He has stabilisd the club and we should be grateful. Lord knows where we would be if SISU still in charge. Time to be able to fully judge is a year or so once FL settled in.

Ashley at Newcastle is a funny one. Yes he was derided by the fan base and the Sports Direct branding round St James's Park looked awful (although better than insect pics tbf) but I'm sure when I looked before the spend on transfers when he was there was similar to their income from transfers.
