Not sure we would greatly miss BTA. On Saturday he scored his first goal in 18 appearances, was accurate with 58% of his passes (by way of contrast Allen was 91%) and won zero out of 11 aerial duels. TBF Simms stats were not much of an improvement but at least he does win balls in the air occasionally

In the last couple of years the subs bench I think. 😁

* Actually not fair, he was a regular for Palace for most of the previous 2 seasons but has been very much a bit part player since Jan 24.

If we’re serious about getting up the table and out of this league in the coming seasons, we need a better sub than Bassette. BTA is a better player (right now) than Bassette so selling him with no replacement weakens the squad.

If BTA starts 8 of the next 11 games or so (as Bassette had done) he’ll have a chance to show his quality and his worth.

He’s nowhere near as bad a player as people like to make out on here.

I agree. He's simply not had enough game time in the correct position. And if we do play 2 up top going forward we maybe short on numbers. Think he will come good.

However, FL as we know will want to transition back to a 433 or 4231 at some point which means we’re short elsewhere. And we need the cash seemingly.

Tough one - id want to keep him, but we need a RB and CM over a 4th choice CF.

Other option is a huge fee for MvE, and that can address the other areas (and maybe a loan).

Very true but we would need a replacement for MvE before we could address any other positions

amazing how a lot of peoples opinions of bta have changed off the back of a single game.
looked like he'd had a rocket shoved up his arse if you ask me. (presumably, realising he was playing for his future after the recent rumours.)
