Course there is. Lewis O’Brien for one. But we haven’t got unlimited funds to go out and get them. Would rather hold money for the summer than sign shite as we couldn’t afford the inflated cost of anyone decent.

We have needed central midfielders since losing Hamer and Kelly. I wouldn’t have any confidence in getting a decent one in the summer after we have failed to do so in the last 2 summer windows.

I’d rather sign no one than introduce two 33 year olds that haven’t played a league game all season.

Or an 18 year old unproven player from a premier league club on loan who we have to play and who clearly isn’t good enough for Championship football.

Or any player that clearly doesn’t add anything quality wise to our squad and whose wages are a ridiculous waste of resources.

But yeah sign any of the above just to appease those short sighted supporters who still think actual football is like wanking off in their one bedroom flat playing Football Manger….

true but it doesn't mean we have to sign them, we can look elsewhere, other players are available, i feel we need at least a signing or two to at least help to the end of the season, yes we have players coming back, like when, thought Wright was back mid Jan, more like anorther month or even the start of march, which could be to late, we are not out of the woods yet regarding staying up.

Signing no players this window shows exactly how ambitious bling really is, sadly too many of our fans are accepting it. There’s plenty of players out there at reasonable prices, most of the league are strengthening whilst we are standing still

You like lots of us on here on here probably thought we were good enough at the start of the season to challenge top 6 again. FL has stabilised the squad and is starting to get results through his coaching approach. We can do with what we have until the summer when the players are better value and you can get them lined up to go straight for pre season. Other Managers recognise that our squad is strong and have under performed and that isn't DKs fault. The trouble with a lot on here is they want to spend money and put the club in the shit again, it cant happen.

Not sure that it would be too bad a thing if there were no signings in this window with key players to return from injury. Whilst still possible a promotion challenge is unlikely as is being dragged in to a relegation scrap. Financially would make sense too if there are no significant outgoings. The anti Doug brigade no doubt would have a field day if there were no additions but some of them are fixated on one thing and not the long term health of the club.
We desperately need a a couple of new players, I have eyes and watch the product on the pitch

We'll bring some players in, we are getting better each game but people have to realise it's a step by step process that will take a while.

We'll add depth and strengthen where we can but people need to:

a) Realise it's not worth just buying players for the sake of it
b) We are operating in a market now where the players we want are also interesting other decent teams so it takes longer for them to sign and we may lose a few to other teams
c) It's not worth getting upset when other teams sign players we have no interest in and are not better than what we have

This summer is the important window for us

21st January and still no closer to bringing in the extra quality. We are 9 points outside the top 6 so two three quality players could be the difference. Woke up this morning feeling fine
We were sitting ~6th this time last season, had money to spend and somehow managed to make the squad weaker. In hindsight we should maybe have gone bigger last January but I get that it ain't always that easy.

I'm with you in that we shouldn't be giving up on play offs (5th down is so-so at best) but with Kitching back (where the h*ll has been) the first 11 looks more complete and coped well with injuries on Saturday. I think just 1/2 signings would be a shot in the arm and there is plenty of time for that.

I have said all along I wanted us to focus on one player that we need. Either a cm or cb and get that done. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Off the top of my head, the following players in those positions as well as full back have moved this window:

Gibson
Sonne
Helik
Edwards
Slimane
Hayden
Crooks

Now Lampard may not have wanted any of those but to act as if there’s not one player available that would improve us is ridiculous.

Also in response to a post above about expecting us to be top 6, I predicted us to finish 14th on the basis that we were much weaker without O’hare. That prediction is looking good.

Enjoying boosh laughing at questions and offering no response. I'm genuinely interested as I cba following done deals at other clubs and I'll be worried if there's players moving which would help us finish strongly and kick on next season.

Sorry mate I am responding but my posts need to get approved by the Admins before they can be seen on here, so I don’t troll. Obviously the admin can’t be online every minute of the day to approve them so sometimes you won’t be able to view them for a while.

There is no point going OTT in this window, we are very unlikely to be pushing for the playoffs.
We just need enough depth to be comfortably mid table at worst.

The narrative is already changing. Before the window we were apparently desperate for at least another CM, CB and RB and now it’s OK a if we don’t get any.

I called it early Burroughs and Howley would be our “signings”

That's a really good point to be fair. Coming into the window, the view seemed to be that we needed 2-4 players in to see us to the end of the season and the lack of signings does seem to be changing peoples thoughts a little.

They are both playing an U21 match this afternoon.
