That’s not at all what this reads like. His job is also improving players why didn’t he mention that? “Will you get two or three?” “If we can keep winning games”
A few remarks in an interview and suddenly a theory emerges about City's transfer policy and training regimes. 😁

As far as I'm concerned the results speak for themselves.

He could mean “if we can get some players in” but that’s not what he’s said. As written the if we can is after the if we can keep winning.
IMO the correct meaning is what you've said in quotes. The Telegraph have put the comma in the wrong place, and I suspect it should be after the word 'games' 🙂

71 years old and still getting lessons in grammar on my football forum.
FFS you lot grow up and talk about Coventry City fc.
I don’t care how you spell owt. Drop yer aiches and stick yer grama where the sun don’t shine.
Lampard was asked a simple question, do you want players in. He said he wants to win games, don’t we all ?
So just drop the 💩 and enjoy winning games for a while.

He wants to keep winning games because that’s his job… That narrative doesn’t make sense when he says we’re closing in on options on loan and permanent deals.

The pertinent quote was that it is (and always been) a ‘difficult window… and not one to be desperate in’.

Hull were desperate last Jan, many people lauded their business last year, now look at them.
Exactly. We need to be considered rather than rash. Hopefully we get a couple - but only if they make sense.

So if we get Schlupp and Matondo, what’s the squad when everyone’s fit?

Dovin
MvE Thomas Kitching Schlupp
Torp Sheaf Rudoni
Wright Simms EMC

S: Wilson, Lats, Bidwell/Dasilva, Eccles, Allen, Matondo, Saka, BTA, Bassette

?

Or do we reckon Schlupp is coming in as a CM, for who though?

You were having a meltdown this morning telling everyone it was clear we were not signing anyone due to you misunderstanding English.

The balls on you son ;)

That’s the problem, I do think you’ll see Wright start as the striker for the team and just positionally switch at times with EMC
In my opinion, it’ll be EMC on the right. That was probably the plan Robins had when he first signed him. Now Simms and BTA are starting to come along nicely, I can't see us having 3 strikers on the bench for one starting spot.

It’s curious we’re on the verge of signing a player who’s mostly played LW.

Got a sneaking suspicion BTA will go this window tbf

Cant see that at all. Most reviews of EMC on the right havent been favourable so far.

Most reviews of him in the early days weren’t favourable on the left. It took 3-4 games to change people’s minds.

You need to find a way to fit all your players in the team and one of those players will have to play in a different role.

Not if they become ineffective you dont. What you are describing is the old Lampard and Gerrard conundrum for England.
