Transfer Rumour Jeffrey Schlupp (4 Viewers)

Would be a strange pick up as would be completing for a place with Rudoni I assume.

Had a good run at cm towards the end of 2023 so let’s hope he can still perform to that level. Not played a lot of football since then. Judging by Lampard’s comments last night, he clearly wants another winger so maybe that’ll be Schlupp
He has also played left back for Palace and we certainly need more dynamic options in that position.

Cracking signing to add some much-needed physicality to the midfield and versatility to the squad.
But the biggest bonus is he already comes with a song:

Rhythm is a dancer,
Jeff Schlupp is the answer,
You can play him anywhere
Forward or defender,
On the left or centre,
Scoring goals from everywhere

Second bit?

If this goes through would we assume the deal for Rak-Sakyi is off then ? Would be great to bring both in but can't see DK digging deep enough unless a midfielder is going to be sold.

Yes, they are one of a few clubs in this league not in any trouble regarding ffp

I don't think you understand it. It doesn't matter if the owner covers the losses, it is a breach of the FFP / PSR if they accumulate losses of >£39m for a 3 year rolling period, for 2022 and 2023 combined they have an operating loss of £29m so they've got £10m loss headroom essentially for the financial year ending 2024. Though there seems to be a one off allowance of £2.5m for the cost of living, so slightly more room.

Not all of those losses will count towards a beach of the P&S rules.

For instance they've invested heavily in the stadium, have invested in a new training ground, they have a category one academy, which are all exempt.

Still, i expect they're very close to the wire.

Your operating loss doesn't account for investments does it?

Schlupp and Matondo …. Crikey how many left wingers do we want
Where have you seen the link to Matondo, because if we’re looking at bringing him in then Schlupp is definitely being brought in to play CM and LB as Matondo is predominantly a LW

edit: just caught up with other threads, strength in depth I guess, or EMC is out for longer than we think. Or simply Schlupp turned us down

The fact that Stoke are also supposedly in for him suggests that Robins had him on the radar when he was manager here

Frank wants to play with A back 4 but can’t with JDS. Therefore we really one have 1 proper left back.

Im afraid he will have to. There is no chance we will have 3 left backs. I also don’t believe Schlupp would be used in a back 4 regardless

Just had a chat with a mate. Says Schlupp is too good for the Championship. Won the Prem with Leicester. Scores for fun and on his day is untouchable. But they need to let him go as they have some young players coming through from the academy and have also bought. Should have asked him about the bought bit....

I disagree we already have 2 left backs. Signing another would be a huge misuse of funds

Yes but left back isn't his main position 😂
Also I would argue Dasilva is a complete waste of time as a defensive and as an attacking option.

I didn’t say it was, I’m saying Schlupp won’t be used there.

Regardless of people’s opinions on Dasilva, he’s here to stay and will have to be used.
