Yeah I'm sure Lampard took the job being told this is your lot, it's a top 6 deck and you have no money to spend.

I do think Lampard looked at the team on paper and thought “ I could do better with this lot” - not an unreasonable conclusion. Probably didn’t think he would need/get much reinforcement in January . Without the injuries I doubt there would even have been ANY expectations of Jan signings.

Surely there's no way he's happy sitting on the bench not even getting a sniff week in week out. What a waste of a career. Can only think that he's on a wage which he knows he won't get elsewhere and is happy to just take the money while it's there.
Probably. At this rate he'll end up in non league.

He's on a respectable wage, training at a club with better players and better facilities than he will ever play at again. His stock isn't going down from sitting on the bench either and most fans like him - I'm not surprised he's seeing out his contract.

Considering all parties seemed happy I'd be surprised if we didn't follow through on it in the summer, but thats just purely my guess
If that is the case, it doesn’t strike me as the money has dried up.

4 signings in Jan with scope to add more in Jan is sensible imo.

If all parties were happy why would we pull the plug unless it was because we had to prioritise another position because we are skint

I would much prefer it if we concentrated on 1 good signing. Either a cb or cm. I feel a top cb would greatly improve Kitching or Thomas next to them. Same goes for a top cm next to Eccles, Sheaf or Torp.

Attempting to bring in 4 players in January that can actually improve us seems very optimistic.
I agree, we look a way better team playing Kitching in defence and Simms upfront. That’s without Haji and EMC being out injured. Add some quality in the areas you outlined and that will elevate the team, 100%.

However, we don’t know what’s on store but the team is light on a ground so there’s a need to bring in more than 1.

The start of the window was CM and RB which is a logical follow up from the summer. From what I’ve gathered, a loanee CM for cover and maybe a CB? That 4th signing target is a mystery to me.

Pls can one of the ITK’s tell me that Tavares is leaving. Really want him to be playing week in week out somewhere. Deserves an opportunity elsewhere.
If he hasn't moved - that means he would rather sit on our bench earning more money than trying to develop his career elsewhere.

Realistically, if he moved, he would be going to League 2 with a significantly reduced salary than he is on now. From a financial point of view, i imagine he's decided to run down his contract on an inflated financial deal, and then look for a perm at the end of the season

It doesn’t necessarily mean that at all. If you have a budget and you need to reallocate funds to get players in higher priority positions, so be it.

We spent £10-12m in the summer, so whilst everyone is excited Sunderland is signing a loanee that could cost them £20-24m, we’ve still spent a lot. It’s not an endless money pit.

Im assuming it’s gonna be Lati out, CM and RB in, then maybe Tavares out CB in. Or something as such, as we have 1 squad space left which could attribute to the 1 in 1 out not a lack of funds. (Obviously positions in are a guess maybe its CB and RB first or CB and CM first)

If Lati goes, we sort of need a cb and rb just to replace him, unless the plan is for Burroughs to be back up at right back. Perhaps Sorba Thomas was going to be a back up Right Wing Back. Like you say who knows!
We will only know in another 3 weeks after the window has closed.

all I know this planned start of the month to come this game hence why I said that

Red Bull literally can't invest. They have investment in Leeds. Conflict of interest for a start

Horner is a cov fan, and in a few weeks time he'll be galavanting around the world for the next 10 months

He was here as the clubs guest as a fan, just like Komatsu was

Nothing to do with investment

you tell me the last time he was in attendance? never seen him there before

not like he’s a regular

Probably because he spends his life gallivanting around the world...

so today of all days he decides to go despite never being in attendance before.

f1 season Finishes in November and starts in March. So majority of football season he has chance to go

I mean he’s a team principle for an F1 team between March and November.

this coincided with his wife being a Watford fan… makes sense whilst he’s off and probably having a bit of banter in house. Same reason the Haas Boss isn’t a regular I’d imagine

F1 Season finishes Mid December, and starts again for testing tail end of Feb

It's only ever off season for 11 weeks maximum

Of them 11 weeks, there is of course new car launches, the prep of the new car, the pre season PR events, the general factory work he would oversee as Team principal

The only real time off Horner would get is a few weeks over Christmas, and the 4 week summer shutdown mid season

And if I had his cash and a family I never saw as I've been all around the world for work, pretty low on my list would be going to watch Coventry City, even as a fan

I stick up for you a lot on here as you knowbut you're waffling on this one mate

Literally the same treatment Komatsu got. 2 fans who both only have about 3 weeks a year free to come and watch us and we're guests of the club. Nothing more than that
At least he had the players there for the team building day.
