Just hope Swansea haven’t changed their mind and want more money as they can see we are desperate for him
no, given the story on the bbc today pretty much confirms what SB said and they have already bid for his replacement

Think cause of how this window has gone. Way I see it Saddle broke the news on here and gets benefit of the doubt that it’s close and will be done today or tomorrow. If not panic 🤣

I didnt say done today or tomorrow

I said he will be at Ryton today or tomorrow

There are medicals, and the boring shit that needs to be done first

Also can't see us announcing it before the Swansea game. Just feels like we would agree 'gentlemanly' if that makes sense.

With you was more trying to say you said the fee is sorted and from the sounds of it wages.

would rather announce it but have him pick up a knock than wait too long with United lurking 🤣

You are never sure until the ink is dry on the contract. But this definitely sounds like its very far down the line and most if not all has been agreed. Its now in Doug s hands to work on the structure on payments.

Im pretty sure the player has spoken to FL Doug has spoken to his agent and they are waiting for the green light to get him into Ryton.

From the wales online. Seems the wage limit is about to be broken

Grimes is currently one of the top earners at Swansea, but could be in line for big pay rise should the move go through, with Coventry understood to be ready to offer him between £30k-£35k a week.

Nonsense it’s just come from the Swansea end

We wouldn’t offer Hamer 30k+ who was proven and 4 years younger at the time

If we are offering Grimes this, then it shows Lampard has put his foot down on the wage structure

They'll have zero knowledge of what he's currently on or what he's being offered by us.

It's complete guesswork on their part.

To be fair not saying we are or aren’t but Doug is still new to this himself maybe he sees it as a mistake ?

Either way just hope it happens

On the 30K, based on the bbc he’s meant to be getting a significant pay rise.

Can’t be that far off our 25K rumoured limit so maybe there is something to it

Latest figures, 2023-24 account will be available in 6 weeks, I'll let you know but I doubt it is going to be much more than a 10% hike.
I expect it to be much more than 10%. 22/23 our highest earner was what? £12.5-£15k? We have at least two players on £20k plus a week now plus the others which will be on much more than the likes of Godden, Dabo, Kelly etc were. We also have much more non-playing staff.

Did think actually do we need to wait on BTA or we will front the payment? Always a worry BTA might not agree the move
If clubs are bidding enough for him now there will still be interest in the summer surely.

Fair points though we sold Hamer too.
