Teams often approach knockout games completely differently. The objective is to get to the next round, that's it. We got through, we won. I guarantee everyone at any club that's ever won anything on pens counts it as a win. You crack on though.

Because we’re potentially the only club in the top 2 divisions who have to rely on outsiders to get any info about their club.

I’ve worked for two national papers and if a paper sports journalist at either of them went 5+ years without an exclusive he’d be fired.

If it was my job to report on Coventry City I’d try to do it as well as humanly possible. That involves getting exclusives and breaking news. Not sitting around waiting for someone else to do it for me.

Quite right. We didn't lose the game, we lost the tie. It was decided by a tie breaker. Penalty shoot outs are merely tie breakers in cup competitions.
This isn't hard or pedantry it is just a fact.
