I think it depends on how he comes back. A quiet end will see him stay, if we go on a crazy run and everything he touches goes in and we’re still in the championship, clubs will be asking

True but I just feel the club will price him out of what is seen as reasonable. Think the ITKs have indicated we have set a high price for him internally

Agree - I've being saying this for a while when everyone kept saying we'd wasted £45m. The fact is we received big fees for Hamer and Gyokeres because they were special players. If you wanted to replace like for like then you need to spend the same on 2, we've spread it on 10 players, some of whom we hope grow to be as good, but are by no means the finished product and in some cases may never exceed the value we paid, but I'd wager their combined current value is already ahead of what we paid for them and instant success was never really likely, just a stick to beat Austin and King with.

I agree on Wright. If he has aspirations of playing in the World Cup, which he surely would have, then leaving would be a huge gamble for him in my eyes. There would be no guarantee he would get the game time he would need moving to a higher level, and lets be honest, the Championship hasn't done any harm to the likes of Sargent getting into the squad. I think it would be better for him to stay and keep catching the eye and banging goals in with us personally if the World Cup is the number 1 priority.As mentioned above that is not how we operate nowadays. MvE is already getting pretty strong interest so we will have a list of targets ready to go.
We are about to sign Grimes so if Sheaf goes we can look to getting in a few prospects maybe.
Wright is a a weird one for me, the World Cup is in the US the end of next season. I'd imagine there will be a push from his agent to get him a bigger stage as he'll be desperate to secure a squad space. But there is a chance he might feel more confident staying where he is settled
For all the shite King gets he has re-invested transfer funds, there is no reason why that would stop. Next evolution for me is to do what Brighton do by doubling up positions with quality prospects as backup. That's the real challenge.

It was never a bad squad. We finished 9th last season and ought to have finished higher. This offseason we’ve improved on that squad so 9th really is a minimum expectation.
We are not privy to behind the scenes goings on, I liked MR and have nothing but respect for him but the management team made a decision that has so far proved correct. Take a look at some of the Stoke city media interviews with Robins, they have a certain dejavu element to them.
