5th highest goal scorer of the modern era after Dublin McSheffrey Ferguson and Wallace according to transfermarkt same number of goals as Regis in 100 fewer games. Absolute club legend.

"Legend" gets thrown about so easily nowadays. He was a good servant to our club, not sure I would describe him as a legend though.

If a guy who is fifth highest all time scorer during one of the best periods of the club isn’t a legend I don’t know who is tbh.

Mmm...we all have our own interpretation, I guess. Still don't think of him as a legend.

if anything ,the signing of Grimes if it happens, shows that none of you know fuck all, about nothing just guessing at best, i can understand that as you want to appear important.

Think that’s cos he’s still fresh. I suspect he’ll be looked back on better than he’s viewed now.
Yeah, maybe. Also, he was pretty ordinary for the last couple of seasons.

Love Godden, I'd put him in the legend category. We don't win L1 without him. And not many players in our history have scored 50 goals for the club.

In the last 40 years he's behind Dion and McSheffrey (72), Cyrille (62) and Gibson (52).

Further back obviously Wallace, Ferguson, Hudson, Gould, Bourton and others but as its pre-83/84 I'm not interested so don't know the specifics.

If you think Godden is a legend what do you think Oggy is ? Elite keeper, goalkeeping coach, now CWR pundit …. Almost his entire working life at Coventry.
