I'll be very honest - it does feel like so much of DK's rep, which I'm sure we all agree started off so well - was derailed by 3 things:

1. An outsized reaction to MR's firing without the full context
2. A bunch of so called ITK's (who've proved themselves time and time again to know close to fuck all btw) sharing a bunch of unfounded stories about behind the scenes that challenge DK's character and decision making
3. His choice to be in the fucking team photo 😂

So what if the guy wants recognition for the hard work and money he is investing in the club?! Everyone here would be exactly the same if you were in his position. Cannot believe how much people have forgotten who was running the club just a few years ago.

Yet we're now in the January window and just signed one of the best centre mids in the division for less than £4m.

I really hope we started hearing his song popping up every now and then. He deserves it.

King has backed Lampard. No doubt.

Had to pay off the mess of a coaching set up left by Robins.

Hired a new back room team for Frank.

Made a big money signing as Lampard’s first through the door.

The coaching thing doesn't make sense to me.

I just can't imagine Robins was happy with Delaney and Dempster and Boateng etc.

So the question is did Doug not want to give him the backing on that front that he's given Lampard, or was Robins not able to find the right quality?

Doug King has been good for the club but my head fell off because he sacked Mark Robins and that's very difficult to get over.

Only time will tell if he made the correct decision. I hope he has but it's far too early to judge that.

He's not been perfect and we all know he hates kids but compared to the despair under SISU. We are in a much better place because of him.

I think he made the right decision either way... You can't have the slow starts. MR got there but it took too long. Is Lampard the answer maybe not but we couldn't keep doing the same thing over and over.

I can’t remember exactly but it was along the lines of the kind of profile of manager they were looking to appoint. E.g. from a foreign league, or champ experience, what kind of system their preferred managerial candidate will look to play.

Instead we had journalists repeatedly asking him “but why did you sack Robins?!”.

The woman from CWR got properly rattled as well.
