Get a grip. They were poorly coached, low on morale, fitness and confidence. Anyone can raise a team for a glory game, rather than away at swansea or Blackburn. We had a goalkeeper coach organising the defence ffs. Relax man. Lampard has changed us. Robins was out of his depth with this level of players.

Have we stumbled on it though ? The injuries obviously had an influence but FL and the coaching staff were responsible for switching things up and adopting different tactics. It didn't happen by accident

I doubt any of us would have left wright, Clarke and sheaf out the starting 11 if they were fit, lampards been brilliant, shown he can adapt tactics to what’s available, he’s gonna have a headache how to fit them back in

It seemed like a very dubious statement from Doug King when he said it was a top six deck, not sure many people really believed it whether you agreed with Robins’ sacking or not.

That being said, we always needed an extra CM even at the start of the season and we still need backup at RWB. When you look at it on paper however it’s a good side. Is it top six? Hard to say, the team didn’t finish in the top six last season - is that what makes it a top six deck or is there something else?

Right now Frank has got the lads playing well, even though he’s been forced to an extent to adapt to this formation through injuries. There’s a lot of good sides around us, but if we get into the top six then Doug King’s statement will be entirely justified.
