Transfer Rumour BTA to Blackburn (1 Viewer)

Spending the Sheaf money in advance of Sheaf being sold in the summer ?
We had money for a midfielder in the summer and then sold Palmer so got his salary and fee. However, we have then had to make financial settlements with a number of coaches and a manager. I do wonder whether Robins finding a new job may have saved us a little money. I think cash for transfers has now gone but maybe enough for wages for loans or free transfers or free agents. Hope Collins will move somewhere either sold or loan to save a little more money. Still expecting a CB and right sided player

He just needed a run of games, rather than a few minutes here and there

100% wouldn’t sell now, was very disappointed with him at the start but the last few games he’s been brilliant

Do you honestly reckon he’s been brilliant today?

Lot of poor touches, giving away the ball, snatching at things. He could have had a hat trick by now.

The goal he scored was great but it did require a bit of luck to go in, very tight angle as the keeper was back peddling

Don’t bother tuning in. It’s far easier that way.

There was no luck about that. Superb technique.

Playing players in their preferred positions generally helps. He was WBA’s top scorer last season, he was always going to be better than Bassette and to add value to our squad.

Haji and Simms are above BTA in the pecking order but he’s a fine player to have in the squad.

As soon as Lampard recognised that Bassette wasn’t the man to lead the line, we’ve looked a lot better upfront.

BTA ran to celebrate as soon as he hit it because he knew he hit it perfect.

Great goal and intentional, he deserves all the plaudits for scoring a potential GOTS.

I’ve been critical of him at times and his touch is questionable sometimes, but fuck me, how can you say his goal required luck - it was a perfect hit and will probably be our goal of the season. Give him some credit when it’s due.

He lost the ball 3 times , assist and a great goal and worked tirelessly

I'm formally retracting any negative messages I may have posted about BTA.

I now see his role in this squad. He's the maverick, mad fucker that can score out of nowhere. Will frustrate occasionally but does run his arse off.

A really good option to have. Unpredictable and will try things others won't.

Will eat humble pie on BTA I see the value in having the fecker at the club. Obviously if someone high balls us in regard to fee we should consider but no other ST would try that second goal and that is worth it especially as a super sub when it’s desperate.

Brutal I know but I’d still be tempted to sell if the price is right. Hes at an age where he should play regularly and he won’t do it here when everyone’s fit. Great goal and work rate today but the other elements aren’t quite there for me (got a couple of Baggies mates and they said exactly the same)

That being said I think he’ll probably stay now and hopefully he’ll keep knocking them in

Why would we blunt our attack the moment we’re back in the playoff race?

You can’t have Bassette as your deputy striker, he is a promising development piece, not quite good enough at this level right now.

I think many of us have questioned his output whilst firmly liking the guy and wanting him to succeed.

I'm absolutely thrilled he's showing the form that he is at the moment, and that goal today was nothing other than top class.

As many have said, he comes across so well. I hope we don't sell him and he stays with us for a long time to come. I feel invested in him doing well for us, and it's very satisfying he scored today in such fashion.
