Heard today of a very very reliable source that people around him are in his ear and he's a bit disheartened about recent game time .

Also there are interested clubs

Id be disappointed if that’s the case and I say that as a fan of Eccles. The fact is others are performing really well in his position and we’re on a great run. What do they/he expect ? Those in his ear should be telling him to bide his time, work hard and take his chance when the opportunity arrives

There’s not one alternative universe that would see Eccles fill in at CB.

Did it occasionally for the U23s I believe. Though I may be mixing him up with Howley.

He's only been out the team for about 5 games and he's still been getting on the pitch. If that's all it takes for people to get in his ear and for him to get disheartened then the people around him are idiots and he's weak mentally. If true, move him on.

Wasn’t he the player slagging his team mates off to his barber? Does seem like he is a bit weak mentally

this along with his ‘entitled’ attitude and lack of focus for me are a big issue

if you’re doing it week in week out then fine, but one game in five or six doesn’t cut it, particularly when there are better players in front of you, and as I’ve said before Lampard knows a midfielder better than anyone and more so than any other position

he’s a decent player on his day, probably at the bottom of the pecking order at the minute, but can do a job, although the last couple of games when he’s come on I’ve got the fear that one of his mistakes might cost us

I think we may been in for a shock tomorrow with Eccles being off and Tahirovic coming in
Nothing in football ever shocks me, the last time I was staggered at a transfer was when Andy Cole signed for Man Utd. 😁

If Tahirovic is coming in at this stage I’d rather us lose Sheaf than Eccles based on the fact sheaf is likely to leave in the summer anyway
If he was an attacking midfielder I could. see it but he's another defensive midfielder so I can't.

He needs to be more productive consistently if he wants to start games here, at least when everyone's fit. He won't get what he wants by listening to voices like that. Hope he ignores them.

I spoke to someone this morning that knows his family and was also told he was disheartened about lack of game time but also that Lampard has spoken to him about a couple of areas he needs to improve.
Seems fair enough... He has 2 options: 1) Work hard & do it; or 2) Ask for a transfer.

At least he's telling him, rather than giving the cold shoulder.

Frank and his coaches will sort him out im sure, but we cant simply play him and give the ball away as much as he did and expect to win.

Do we know for sure sheaf wants out? He might be loving life under lamps. Who knows. Hopefully anyway. Looking forward to seeing him back and fully fit.

Eccles has been a first choice for some time now in the team that reached the playoffs and the FA Cup run. A top 6 and a top 9 team.
He has got better year on year and is not afraid to get stuck in. That is until this season when he has looked less effective in an underperforming team. There again, so has Sheaf.
With Eccles, is this the loss of form all players get? Pretty sure his best form will return.
The question is, does the new set up value him, as they have only seen Eccles being less influential.
Don't believe conspiracy theories about new contracts, although players with longer contracts can be sold at a higher rate.
Lampard said he does not want anyone to leave this window and I feel we should keep all our players apart from Burroughs and Howley for another loan.
