If we want to get out of this league, we need better than Josh Eccles at his current level.
Can see someone like Plymouth, Oxford, Cardiff etc fancying him

Eccles swap for Goodrham plus a bit of cash?

How much is Goodrham valued for at Oxford. Saw there fans going on about him being worth ten million to the club. But imagine that is way off.

Both Eccles and Allen although fair championship squad players and you can't deny the effort, they are not consistently good enough to be starting in a team every week that's serious about a top 6 finish.

But they have previously done it and got us into the top 6.
Carried by Hamer and Gyok

Barnsley and Huddersfield made the playoffs in recent seasons, and the majority of those players took them down to League 1. It’s not enough to use that as justification to play them forever.

Eccles is a poor player, Sheaf hasn’t turned up all season

If the squad has L1 players how come they are 3 points off the playoffs

This is a bit of a strawman argument because we had Vik and Hamer. Players like Eccles, Allen and others were a good supporting cast but by no means real game changers.

Last season, we lost every game bar 5-6 games against the top 12.

This is also nonsense, Eccles is a good championship CM who gives a 7/10 performance most games. As for Sheaf, still consistently one of the best defensive CMs in the league and he’s been injured all season (injections to get through games).

As a pair, they’re both solid defensively but they’re not top players in terms of shot creation and progressive carries and so on. A player who is good at those things is Grimes so we will compliment Sheaf excellently when he’s back.

Just because a player hasn’t started a few games, it doesn’t mean they’re terrible players and on the transfer list. The same things were being said about Kitching, Dovin, Allen, Simms and BTA at points this season and the people peddling these narratives look foolish, again!
