They probably offered NFFC and McG the best we could offer, being in L1 with the burden of high rent means it was always going to be an upwards struggle.

So its not SISU's fault but it is ACL's is it? Don't open a can of worms that's not applicable.

Lets be realistic, He was a loan player and if he goes to Ipswich then hes obviously on a better deal at a club playing at a better standard. So the 'why Ipswich' comments are stupid.

Thanks David Mcgoldrick for the goals you scored and being the main reason in our turn around in fortunes/mentality at the club.

It seems that a number of CCFC supporters have no interest in investment in the squad.

I can guarantee you though, if Hoffman completed a takeover of CCFC and employed the exact same tactics as SISU, it would be being lauded by the same people who are critical of SISU.

I doubt we tried to sign him simply because he is out of our price bracket and to be fair Waggott said that right from the start - no blame attached to SISU its just a fact of life at CCFC.
Whether you can blame SISU (and previously equally incompetent owners) for putting us in a position where we cannot afford players like McG is a different argument.

I heard that his agent said Ipswich offered him £11k a week but City werent prepared to pay more than £10k. If thats right then sisus brinksmanship has failed the club yet again.

10k is a LOT for a L1 club! Paying stupid wages got us in financial trouble in the 1s place.

10k is a good offer, especially considering there could be add-ons/bonuses in is contract!

Some people never learn!

So you reckon he would leave a club he was happy at and doing well, leave the midlands for 1k a week.........Behave

Stop peddling your own can of worms to increase your own self importance bcos lets be honest if we had stability that would not sit well with your own agenda would it.

Got to agree with you young Taylor we need to be financially more prudent - although I seriously doubt we offered anything like that amount (nor should we). I was told that we were not paying anything for McG in his initial spell as it was just that Forest wanted him in the shop window and away from their goalkeeper (and his wife) for personal reasons.

He was never going to sign. As soon as a championship club came in that was it. It's a shame, but totally predictable. It would have been the same if a championship club came in for Clarke, he wouldn't be here. It's really as simple as that. None of our players are here for the love of the club. It's a job.

Good luck to him, he did a great job for us but like all modern footballers he will go where the money is.
Now am sitting back now and awaiting first post about how crap McGoldrick is and how he was totally over rated etc

Mcgoldrick was crap and totally over rated.

A silly and irrelevant comment with regards the rental situation. Don't forget Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. This limits us to a wage cap of 65% of turnover; thereafter an embargo is (again) placed upon us. The lower turnover being a function of relegation; which is another issue ACL can't be held accountable for, and any rental savings (if any) couldn't be used for player wages.

As for him moving on; well, it was ever likely to happen. I'm just thankful for the positive effect he had upon our season. Thanks David :p

That happened fast, a few days ago he had no idea what was happening
Yeah clearly both he and Forrest knew exactly what was happening so as others have said time to move on, we have a goal scorer in Clark and I can see him forming a bloody good partnership with Elliott given the chance.

Why would we do that if he fails in the championship again?

i knew someone would say that

i mean if say he scored 5-6 till end of season

not bad but not same level of form he had at cov we might be able to take him in summer then

i think he has what it takes to score in championship
