We don't need another left back though, especially not another who can't defend
Yeah in fairness unless we're moving someone on he's not needed.

I've just always liked him as a player and he offers something a little different going forward to what we have now.

I really cba to go around hunting for his stats but i'm sure i saw something that suggests he just takes an insane amount of shots?
Correct.
I posted about it before he got his PL move.

It's easy to pick fault in Armstrong's game though too, which I know seems crazy...

If you look at his goal tally vs his xG they are almost identical i.e. he scores about the same amount of goals as you'd expect from the chances he's had. Elite strikers typically slightly exceed their xG by converting some of the tougher opportunities.
Armstrong's goal tally is massively swayed by the sheer amount of shots he takes. He averaged an incredible record 4.7 shots per game in the Championship this season, smashing the previous record high of 3.9 but he takes a lot of long range, low quality shots. Is that him being selfish or because the team doesn't create enough? Either way, Blackburn rely on him too much - he scored 43% of all their goals & his chances alone made up 39% of their total xG!
He also missed 23 'Big Chances' which was the most in the league.

No doubt he's an exceptional player at this level, but these are the kind of things Premier League teams will be looking at to decide if he can make the transition.

1 Villla.
2 Leicester
3 Sunderland
4 Derby
5 there ain't one.

How are Brum our rivals, lent us their ground when we were a joke of a club. The Brum lot despise Villa, no rivalry with the Brum.
This rhetoric about Brum helping us out is a red herring. We paid more than we could have elsewhere and they needed the money just as much as we needed a stadium to use.

Since their takeover they’ve become the most insufferable pricks, thinking they’re some massive club and the best thing since sliced bread…. They’re not.

Personally, do not give a toss about Villa, before my time. Do hate Leicester with a passion though and have a dislike of Sheff Utd.

Looking at those ins and outs, on paper it looks to me like maybe 6, 7 or 8 teams are fighting for the one remaining playoff spot. Middlesborough look strong to pick up that 5th spot.

I agree. Their fans are acting like they've won the Championship this year, and like their players are of premier league quality.

Now this windows done. What’s the target for the summer.

Assuming MVE is off, as such we would need two RBs who can also play RWB.

One LB to replace JDS (also needs to be able to LWB).

One CM to replace Eccles and/or Sheaf. Assume we extend Allen for a year

One RW to take over from Saka.

Why should Eccles be going? He’s just signed a new contract in November.

I would assume another CB would be on the shopping list. If we stick with a back 5 I think we need another head, if we revert to a back 4 I think we will look for a more experienced option and will move on one of the current 4 - Binks being the most likely option seeing as he is the top earner in the division. We are pretty well stocked in the forwards but a lot may depend on if Haji stays & I could also see Norm making some noise if he struggles for minutes.

May have already been said but Tahirović did get a move, just not to us so Rexo was half right ;)

All depends who goes doesn’t it?

Assuming no one and a blank cheque (both unlikely TBF) I think LB and CM (8) are the positions I’d focus on. I’d still like RB cover and an upgrade at CB if we can’t make 4ATB work with this squad.

But any of Sheaf, MvE, Wright could go, even Rudoni if he keeps up his form. And we might get silly bids for say Thomas or someone that changes that.

Burnley, yes good with Edwards doing a lot of heavy lifting. Sheffield Utd come out the window stronger for sure. Boro have had a good window but its a risk losing your best striker, i don't think Iheanacho replaces those goals. Hull just looks like classic Hull scattergun approach to me.

Adam Armstrong situation feels a bit off to me. I think it would be announced by now if everything was in on time, feels a bit like someone trying to argue the case and get it through regardless.

VILLA will always be the most hated club amongst any Cov fan I would say above the age of 30.

Leicester, Derby, Sunderland all hated, but Villa on top of that list by a mile.
Not for this 63 year old, I hate Leicester & even have a brother who supports them. I don't mind Villa at all but don't like Birmingham.

We turned our hate on the Villa as they were the only team in the top division for ages that we played. I think the older lads have always hated Fester more, its the only team ive seen our fans go on the pitch to brawl with at Highfield road.

Nah, over 30 and the "hate" of Villa was always us. They never seemed to have their hearts in it.

That and I think Bolton beating Man United on the same day as the Villa game, Man U already being champions? Or have I made that up? Had we held on against Villa and Man U done their job, we may still be in the Prem!
Bolton weren't in the PL that season, Man Utd lost at home to Derby who ended up 6 points above us so it may have been them
