As good as Leeds are, they've only won 5 out of 14 away games. As always, first goal feels massive.

I would bring Grimes in, he's too good to leave out especially given the quality of the opposition. Probably for Torp.
Torp is key...think again, but don't ask me...it's a long time since team has been so cohesive..put Grimes on the bench and bring him on for second half if necessary.

Didn't we play a back 6 or something silly in the away game ? If I recall correctly we played every defender possible 😂

Basically. 4141 with defensive mids everywhere 😂

I have always found games suit us when the opposition is a bit more open to attacking us, which I expect Leeds will.

At least during MR's era, of which there will still be remnants of at this stage of Lampard's reign, we struggled when teams sat in.

That being said, this is the real acid test, isn't it? Looking forward to it, feels a bit of a "free hit" anyway.

Expecting 12-23 to be sold out by the end of the day. A lot left in the family zone which is understandable with it being a night game.

Expecting 29k for Leeds and then 30.5k for Ipswich.

Tell a Cov fan that 6 years ago and their head would explode.
But we're a small club to some.

Less than a month ago we needed pens to get past a poor Sheffield Wednesday side.
Now all of a sudden you think we can take on the top team in the championship without one of the best players in the division?

We've had a good recent run against teams who are struggling for form and/or struggling with injuries, but Leeds are a different proposition.
To not play Grimes because we've managed to beat Swansea without him is mental. Not to mention that he's rested and not fatigued like Allen, Torp and Rudoni will be.

Big selection decision for Lampard tonight, it's the first time in an age that we're all debating who to leave out because we're playing well, rather than who to bring in because we're playing crap.

Personally I think Grimes has to start, and Torp & Rudoni have both been on top form lately, so i'd leave Allen out, but that would be very hard on him. He would then come back in on Saturday when Grimes is cup tied.

Leeds undoubtedly the best in the division but I disagree with the ‘free hit’ nonsense. If you’re chasing something, there are no free hits.
I don't think the manager will setup with that mindset so i wouldn't worry. More from a fan point of view we're not going to go into the usual meltdown if we do lose it... well actually, lets wait and see on that.

I think it’s a free hit in terms of our season won’t depend on losing to top of the league and a top top side.

No way it will pan out like that as we will give them a game I think but just if we were to lose many more games I won’t be heart broken losing to Leeds.

Sheaf and Eccles got run rings around during our last encounter. Albeit the formation didn't work for anyone. I can see Grimes and Allen sitting just in front of the defence. Grimes played well when Swansea lost 4-3 to them, collects the ball off the defence with calmness, something we struggle with. Allen will most likely be told to run as much as possible chase things down. Torp is a good player but for a physical match, it's not his game. I think the key will be staying tight on the wingbacks, just need to be up for it ,win every 50/50.

Yes we need to compete and have a positive mindset. But any points gained will be bonus points. A defeat wouldn't be a disaster. But we at least need to see a performance to keep the momentum going.

I hope we're nice and compact today preferably with a 5-4-1 shape. Some may see that as negative but not sure I trust 2 up top tonight. Think Ellis or BTA may get sucked into an isolated press. Crowd the midfield!

They will feel pretty invincible right now so we have to score first. We need to somehow rock their confidence and get under their skin. I like to think I’m a realist though, it will be tough, they are a much different proposition to anyone else in the division.

this, it's the fact that if the best team in the league beats us then it really isn't the end of the world

Seen someone suggesting on X that it's an unchanged lineup tonight - don't know if any of the ITKs here know any different.
