Lampard said yesterday he's expecting players back from injury in the next 'two to three weeks'. EMC looks fairly imminent so it seems Wright and Sheaf are a little way off.

I'd be making fairly wholesale changes for Saturday, there were quite a few players who looked absolutely knackered last night.

I think you either have to go wholesale changes v Ipswich with a view to going full strength against QPR and Wednesday, or you go partial rotation against Ipswich and QPR then back to full strength vs Wednesday. Personally I'd go with the first option.

Wright is a big lad. All that weight shifted on to one ankle. No wonder it’s taking this long.

Apologies for not offering any tactical insight here... but just effing go for it from the whistle & avoid extra time at all costs.

Prediction: Ipswich go through on pens 🙄

I'd be trying out a 433 here to try and get back into the swing of it.

Are we out of the swing of it though?
Does this game tell us any more about the team than beating Plymouth 4-0 did?

We've been doing well, we got beat by comfortably the best team in the league. We don't play anyone remotely approaching their level for well over a month.

I don't think there's any need to over react.

I told you i'm not over-reacting haha, its just the formation i want to play. I want the likes of EMC and Wright in the team. Grimes is here now, we've not really tried a 4 with Dovin, Thomas, Kitching. I think it'll be good. Having the likes of Joel in the team doesn't gain us much imo.

433 will always be our best formation with our whole squad fit in my eyes.

We need another right footed CB. Every team/formation I can think of relies on Thomas playing.

Looking forward to it. This is a proper 'free hit' unlike last night.

No pressure on the players. A chance to through in JDS, Binks, Eccles and possibly Bassette.

Looks like there will be 30,000 in there, too, for a traditional 3pm kick off. Love it.

QPR is by far the more important game but we also don't want to go into it off the back of two hammerings. Bit of a quandry this one...

I'd go:

Dovin (Collins should never feature again, its bad enough seeing his name on the bench)
Lati, Kitching, Binks
Eccles, Torp, Allen, Dasilva
Sakamoto, Bassette, Rodrigues

Hopefully 20 mins for EMC

Not ideal but gives a break to MVE, Thomas, Rudoni, Bidwell, Simms and BTA, so they and Grimes can come back strong for QPR:

Dovin!
Lati, Thomas, Kitching
MVE, Torp, Rudoni, Grimes, Bidwell
Simms, BTA

30 mins for EMC

Don’t they all come on a coach together now or was that a one off? The other week I was there at 1.30 and they were all in. Under Robins they were still arriving then
Yeah you might be right about the coach...

Under Robins 90% pf the players used to come anytime from 12:15 - 12:45. I know because my kids forced me to wait with them every time we came up to a game. How many photos with MVE is too many?....

Collins
Burroughs Lati Binks Dasilva
Eccles Allen Rudoni
Sakamoto Bassette Raphael

That team has all the physical presence of a poltergeist XI

Also if you’re resting anyone at all it’s Rudoni considering the minutes he’s played compared to everyone else.

Shame Grimes can't play in this one.
Think Bidwell and MVE will probably come out, they were both shattered in the second half yesterday.
Assume Eccles, Bassette and maybe even Raphael could get a start

Would be nice to get through to the next round so hopefully can still field a competitive team
