With Sheaf and/or Grimes to come back in, not to mention Torp and EMC, I can't see Eccles getting many minutes.

I thought Frank fucked up today, I'd of played Eccles as RB and started Torp, he could always of rested Torp on Tuesday when Grimes is available.
Agree, dare say Eccles days are numbered. He’s 6th choice now in the middle of the park as it is, had a chance today and blew it.

I hope Frank’s learnt 2 things this week; 1 - We can’t play a high line but not press against good teams - we have been killed with the ball over the top and we need to know when to drop 10 yards. 2, Lats is not a Rb. He gets caught for pace & kills the attacks. Eccles or Burroughs have to deputise when Milan is not available

It was just naive to play such high lines against opposition like this and it concerns me that teams will quickly cotton on while FL persists with it. MVE aside the defenders are just not quick enough or even that great at sensing the danger.

Rudoni the least bad today.

Btw, can everyone see why Rapha hasn’t been given more of a chance now? New Tavares. Needs to go out on loan as when we’ve got players back he is getting nowhere near the team.

Lati awful and Dasilva was awful and our passing was shocking also Sakamoto is just not the same player since since his injury

Lampard being backed in the summer for a big go next season?
Battle of the sources there i think. Mine said Lampard was told he would be backed, others have said we have no money. I can only pass on what i'm told.
Grimes is not a bad start. The RB was to be a permanent transfer so would've been a reasonable fee.
Obviously we'll have to move players on who are not part of the long term plans, that will add to the pot.

Those ratings are bob on for me.
Pretty sh**e all round.
Delayed kick off = pretty tinpot, weird team selection from the off, below par performances by all, some were shocking for the levels we want to be playing at.

On to Tuesday, where a different looking side, with some desire and aptitude, will make things look a bit better, hopefully….

MVE will be off. Club thought he was off in Jan but didn’t meet our valuation

Can certainly see Sheaf out the door too. That will accumulate to 15 - 18 mill of funds also Vik windfall of another 6-8 mill. That’s around 25 mill with a few others leaving. I can see another summer of mass movement

hopefully this time round it’s quality over quantity with a couple loans thrown in too

I agree about MVE (if valuation met) and Sheaf. It sounds like a few others are not in the long term plan from the whispers going round.

Like you say, hopefully this time around recruitment and Lampard get it spot on.

Lampard has the team playing with a high line, which leaves us vulnerable to offensive runs from deep with long balls.
We have monopolised the recruitment of slow central defenders, who have the turning circle of an articulated lorry. Which makes Lampard's decision to play with a high defensive line bizarre!
It must be really easy for QPR's coach to prepare tactics for Tuesdays game.

Thankfully Robins won't be in charge of spending £25m let's be honest.

Sakamoto is the same one trick pony he was before his injury. Teams had already started to work him out. Dasilva hasn't got a truck. Lati is decent in several positions, but never a RWB?

Lampard's selections were odd today. Especially BTA as a loan striker.

It’s difficult with the high line. We do it so that there’s less of a gap between midfield and defence which is where teams always used to hurt us, but against good sides we will always get exposed as the defenders are generally quite poor and very slow minus Thomas

This set of players with a few outgoings and £25 million spent on top sounds quite exciting to me tbh. Good times ahead.
