I'm still bitter about twisting my ankle at their place in the league last season.

Sheaf puts Bannon on a spin-dry and scores a screamer but due to the leaky roof making the floor slippy and the seat in front barely hanging onto it's screws I lost my footing down the gap and had to act like I wasn't crying.

You need to tell that to the Daily Mail, don’t forget to put on your best compo face.

Barry 'Barnet' Bannan is out and Bernard is out, not the best at home plus they let in the most goals from corners in the league , we're in good form plus the 3 points is massive for us! Paterson with the winner 😂
You do realise they have a Paterson playing for them ? ( albeit he's about 47- or looks it)

Our bench tomorrow & in the coming weeks is going to look ridiculous …….. we are making big strides now with quality additions
CTID
Tomorrow's bench will be very interesting. I don't think there will be 2 goalkeepers on it. 😁

Coventry isn't anything to write home about but I don't think anywhere in the city is as bad as this:

I stayed in Sheffield midweek for work a few times about 15 years ago, the city centre was pretty grim and desolate at night. Stayed once or twice at a Travelodge near Sheffield Parkway and the local supermarket (might have been a Lidl) had full height screens around the tills.

I'd say Coventry and Sheffield are more similar than different. Sheffield more hilly....with a better nightlife

Better than the best thing being a movie about being so poor you have to become a sex worker TBF.

There was a rumour I heard afterwards that it could have been set in the Midlands based around closures of the car manufacturing.

Probably bollocks and every struggling industrial city/town has some similar rumour after it became a hit.

Says that Pete Waterman is a Cov fan, I know he grew up near the Hastings pub but I am pretty sure he declared his love for Walsall FC.

I can confirm that Page Hall is dire. Full of drug dealers and condemned property. You certainly don't stop when driving through the place

Until the FA Cup final and then he became a Cov fan overnight again. 🙈

It's nice around Eccleshall Rd though TBF and the bits towards the south of the city, ie nearer Bramall Lane
Eccleshall Road is very nice . Travelling south from Brammall Lane it gradually becomes more countrified until after you've gone around 7 miles you end up on the edge of The Peak District. It's great living on the outskirts, probably the same as most Citys

Historically, Sheffield was a very industrial city with terrible air pollution. The wind predominantly blows from the southwest, so the workers were located to the northeast (downwind), the owners to the southwest (upwind).
Today, the area to the southwest of the city centre (e.g. Nether Edge) tends to be leafy, affluent and professional. It could be a part of Surrey. To the northeast, the suburbs tend to be poor, working class, have low social mobility and incredibly low healthy life expectancy. These areas suffered terribly under austerity.
Sheffield is the archetype of a city trapped as a prisoner of geography and history. There are many others, of course.
As a visitor (or indeed as a resident), places like Page Hall are not a part of one's life. Which, of course, is part of the problem.

Tough game today. Minimum we need a draw but the win really keeps us in the race. They’ll be feeling the same way.

Only just realised the A46 is closed again this weekend. Pain in the arse. Will go through Stoneleigh.

Anyone else parking in the Penistone B&Q?

Going to be interesting to see who drops from the bench if Pato gets the international clearance today. Guess it will be Rapha.

I bought a chisel ready for his statue, if that's going to be the case.

Stuff Wembley 87 and the Checkatrade and the play off final.

Beating Preston at Preston, would top the lot
Oh, ignore that. We're at home aren't we. 😂😂😂
