Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild (9 Viewers)

Nothing better than seeing other Cov fans (outside of Cov).

I live in London and was running this morning. Absolutely shattered and spotted a bloke walking his dog wearing a Cov bobble hat (the bloke not the dog), game him a ‘sky blue army’ shout, to a chorus of ‘PUSB’, gave me a spring in my step for the last couple of KMs

Got me thinking, where’s the weirdest / most far flung place you’ve bumped into another member of the sky blue army?

London is commonplace... I studied there 2000/3, and I had a white van man shouting GET IN THERE at me on Tottenham Court Road, and we where both wearing the black Isuzu top from the relegation season.

Went on holiday to Kenya in 1994 and the lad who sat in front of me in the west terrace was in the same hotel. I remember they called themselves the CupOvTea boys for some reason.

On holiday in Florida back in the 90s saw a guy wearing a Sky Blues shirt, I said Hi Sky Blues fan then.

He said no I just like the shirt. 🤣

Going to see England on Tour playing cricket has meant I've seen a few in Barbados, Sydney and in NZ I stood in the queue to get into the ground behind a bloke wearing a Nuneaton Boro shirt! But my best occasion was in Stansted airport when I literally walked into the whole team waiting to get a flight to Germany for a pre-season tour. Gary Mac was manager at the time. Had a quick chat with Dele Adebola, such a polite chap to say the least!

I bought a house in zone 6 London / Essex last year, a relatively untapped area of London only on my radar because of the Elizabeth Line. My first time visiting, I sat on the very last tube carriage and as I got off at my potential new stop, a guy came to the door from the opposite end of the carriage wearing a CCFC Pony overcoat.

Anyway, fast forward six months, and I realised Frank Lampard grew up here too.

A German bloke in Cologne was wearing a yellow Peugeot City top (unsurprising, as I'd bought it him as a present)). In exchange he had bought me a pair of FC Koln underpants (no, I don't still have them, nor any pics available 😳)

Was it him in the coat?

Last summer in Rotterdam whilst walking over the Erasmus bridge wearing the red & black chequered away top,a tourist boat happened to go underneath the bridge & just as the boat went under the bridge,2 City fans looked up & noticed my top & stood up shouting 'Sky Blue Army' 💪

Been to a few music festivals around Europe and there's always at least one person with a Cov top walking about

I have seen and met fellow sky blues in Mumbai and Melbourne (at test matches). Always gives a nice feeling to see fellow supporters whilst away from home.

I went to Southwold Pier and as I approved there was a guy in a City shirt walking out.
We get everywhere, a bit like the Irish! :)

Not quite of the theme but I once bumped into Richard Wood in Leeds on the Monday lunchtime following his last minute own goal for Rotherham against us (around 2014). Needless to say I was an arse and mentioned this to him (“once a sky blue. Etc.”) He had the good grace to laugh and was generally a great guy.

EDIT - from memory it was a winner for us as well
