A few decent bits in attack but he did lose it in our half once trying to bring it infield. Anyway, no great harm was done.
To be fair he had absolutely 0 options and was only back there covering Bidwell who’d gone forward.

Definitely looked like he wasn’t quite sharp. But to be expected after not playing for months.

Needs a couple of full 90s on the U23s and then hopefully we can give him 15-20 here and there if we are comfortable in the next few games, because he was way off it

Some nice touches going forward, but positionally and defensively looked like a competition winner

Confident it will come though, he's clearly not shit

Spot on. He’s lightweight and his touch off. Will hopefully be decent once fully fit. Was a little bit of a liability today. But we know he’s better than that.

Bang on the money. Lost the ball a couple of times which allowed Preston to get further up the pitch. Credit that he did track back, but I’m sure he’ll be making more defensive contributions when fully up to speed. I think he’ll prove to be a shrewd signing.

We don't particularly need him. He is just a bonus player and a bit of a free hit.

He did okay today even if a bit of a mixed bag.

looked pretty good on the ball, probably not a player to bring on when you’re winning, more someone to try and unlock a defence if you’re chasing a game

Not ready yet fitness wise etc for me. Big call (and the wrong call) bringing him on at 2-0. Was a 3-0 and cruising sub really. Got away with it though.
Thought it was match sharp where he lacked . Going forward he looked good and supported well , defensively he was shambolic . Absolutely all over the place

He’ll be someone to give EMC/Wright/Saka/Rudoni a rest. Played 30 odd games at this level last year so clearly isn’t shit. Just looked rusty and nervous.

Did we ever put any bids/offers for him?

For most of his playing career we were below his level and didn't have a pot to piss in. We didn't even have our own ground for some of it.

Him turning us down keeps being mentioned, but didn’t get any response when I asked this a few weeks ago.

It’s just a reason to be unfairly bitter with no substance.

Not as a CCFC player though, has he?

Whilst he may prove to have been a value for money signing, he should keep his trap shut about how wonderful it is to be here and to plays as a Coventry City player in front of Singer Corner until he has made a significant contribution to a win against a top 4 championship team or a PL side.

Do you not think he is being a bit two faced? He could have showed us what he could do in a Sky Blue Shirt years ago.

I think Lamps put it well, this whole he turned us down is speculation that doesn’t even look right. Forest were in the championship and paid £1-2M for him from Walsall when we were in League 1 and Northampton with greats like Adam Barton in midfield and only signing shit free agents and loans.

In summer 2016 he went to Bristol City in the championship, and we were beginning our descent to League 2 with Mogga losing the plot and assembling arguably the worst squad in football history (Stuart Beavon, Kevin Foley, Adeyai) after banking on PL loans that never came in.

The only time it looks like there could have been a chance of us being in a biddable position (or even the same league) was 2021 when he went to Swansea on a free. But look at who we signed that summer permanently and maybe we wouldn’t have been guaranteeing a regular starting position.

To people slagging saying he rejected us, is based just on social media speculation when it looks unlikely the club would have been unable to make a move for most of his career.

Unless we get hit by loads of injuries Paterson is only going to be playing occasionally 15 minutes off the bench here and there. Can't be any worse than the Waghorne or McGuire option we have had in recent seasons.

The change was probably more with EMC in mind. Playing 70 minutes was a big jump up in minutes from the last 2 games off the bench.

Paterson himself looked off the pace a bit, which is normal given the lack of football he’s had. Once he gets up to speed, he’ll turn out to be a useful role player.

Hello Mrs Paterson
Remember it could be one of the Cov supporting neighbours that he had growing up as a Coventry kid in the best Coventry supporting neighbourhoods in the City, that was Coventry. Yes Coventry and let's just mention Coventry one more time because he was born and bred in Coventry, just in case you didn't know he was born in Coventry 😂
