Lets be frank, Frank this was the first game we looked really good from the start until the last 10 minutes. We have been grinding out results in our run but looked the real deal today. Think Grimes looks to have brought some midfield class to the table, keeping things simple and ticking over. Lots of posters on here were calling for that cool head and experience in midfield earlier in the season.
Preston goal was offside, just, not by miles. Should have had 5 but for good goalkeeping and a lot of luck on their side.
First time I can remember not looking like rabbits in the headlights playing Preston.

Performance of the season that was, absolutely dominated them for 90 minutes and deserved to win 4 or 5 - 0. I thought everyone had good games but Bidwell, Bobbs & Rudi were stand out. Even if we fall short this year I'm already excited for next season, FL and the coaches have got this squad purring.

Very good performance, best for a long time, perhaps even the season.

10 needless nervous minutes at the end, but I had faith we’d see it through.

Team has developed that resilience and ability to find a way; it’s reminiscent of the play off season.

Exciting times ahead!
100% agree. You don’t win 7/8 games without deserving it and especially during 3rd half of the season without being serious contenders. Just looking at form now and only wish it was first the 3rd!!!

I still think O Hare is great, just a different kind of player.

Rudoni is obviously physically much stronger, taller and more composed. Three things that can’t really be taught imo. O Hare will always be a busy player and never a composed player.

The output of Rudoni this season is so impressive. Even when he’s not playing a great game, he’s difficult to substitute because of his dead ball delivery.
When Rudoni hits those high looping corners, time seems to stand still. They are not the usual 'whipped in' corners but are absolutely murderous for a defence. Can he give Eccles some lessons in dead ball kicking?

First half was the best performance of the season - much quicker transition from defence to attack which previously had been very laboured. This was mainly, but not exclusively, down to Grimes. Rudoni continues to look so good and Simms scared them witless for the first hour

Three 'buts'

Eccles had a stinker and should have been replaced a lot earlier. We needed somebody to harry them harder - Allen is just the ticket for that role. My neighbour in block 19 met a Derby fan who described Frank as being great when things were going well but not very adaptable when they were not. Not replacing Eccles could be a possible example of this??

Poor service to EMC.

The central pair in the 4-3-3 were dangerously exposed quite frequently in the second half. Looked like their front man had his eyes on Kitching in particular

Top performance today. We looked well up for it. Really love this direct nature. Things like the low vertical direct through balls on both sides - one to Simms from Thomas and another from Eccles to Bidwell. Really aggressive.

Saka had a great game, as did Rudoni, Grimes and Simms.

last 10 a worry - but should have been out of sight. Now it’s over it’s great to reflect how well we played.

He deserved it ....& he deserves a better song too & so does Lampard !!
We shouldn't be singing "Super Frank" that's a Chelsea tune.

Nope, we were more like determined Spaniards at a La Tomatina festival.

Good 7 years though, you agree?
Fabulous.

We will never know if Robins could have turned things around, and anyway, it's just not worth debate anymore. We now have Lampard and I think we are all now very happy we have got him.

As with Robins, sometimes a manager is just a good fit. They can fail elsewhere, but then be successful with another club.

It obviously all got quite fractious between Robins and King and Robins did seem rather tired and defeated at the end.

Very happy it's going swimmingly with FL, but I do worry that if we have a great season, but just lose out in the playoffs, other clubs may well be looking to nab him and that could really set us back.

No pressure, Frank, but you need to get us promoted right now.

Just seen the replay of their goal and he's completely offside, his entire body.
I was in line with it and he was a mile off. That lino missed four clear offsides the useless cnt

Eccles never had a stinker. Let it go mate and accept Eccles is a valuable member of the squad
