Now we are 10th and have averaged 1.8 ppg under Lampard.

It is a massive turnaround.

He’s beaten several teams on terrible runs of form. He’s scraped a couple of close games against Bristol and QPR. First half against Watford aside I’m yet to come away from a game thinking we’ve played well tbh.

Tactically poor, reliant on an outstanding performer (in this case Dovin) and not massively improving the teams situation while spending a fair amount (£4m on Grimes). You don’t need to watch every game there’s this thing called the internet where people who have sit around discussing them all day.

I know we’re in a purple patch so you’re not allowed to say it and it’s crowing season and I will still change my avatar if we’re still in this form at the end of the month, but we are 10th with a squad that finished 9th last season. Let’s have a little perspective.

When you have belief, you can play poorly but still grind out results. Now Lampard has had a chance to work with the squad, he appears to have instilled that belief. We were a long way from our best today but we’ve gone away to a decent team who were above us in the table and snatched a fantastic result.

We can dissect whether we deserved it or not but at the end of the day, it’s another 3 points in the bag and the momentum continues.

There won't be anyone looking forward to playing us ( including you Preston). If we can get decent points from our next 4 games hopefully we can hit the more difficult March fixtures with all our main players fit.

I agree with this sentiment too. But i must admit ive never seen us lose confidence as badly and as quickly as we did vs Portsmouth 2nd half.

Its a fragile thing confidence and belief.

Yes Robins always gave us a good finish to the season. When he left I had my doubts. But with 13 games to go we're 1 point off the top 6. Anyone thinking we would be better off with Robins is deluded.

Said it earlier, but if you're one of the other teams competing for 5th or 6th, we're the team you're most worried about.

They won't, but at the same time I don't think they'll be fearing playing us either. We're picking up great results, but we've not really had any great performances. Without Dovin in goal we wouldn't have won most of those matches, as he's probably been MotM for us in most.

Don't get me wrong, getting results without playing well is brilliant and the sign of a team that could go on to achieve a lot, but let's not get above ourselves and think we're some unstoppable force driving up the division that everyone is going to fear.
