Frankly, I don’t think those managers would be averaging better than 1.8 points without our 3 best players.

Robins, RVN and Bloomfield have won less games than Lampard combined. RVN is averaging 0.85 points a game and a 23% win rate is worse than Lampard at Everton, for reference and if we’re judging them by the same standards as you and others judged Lampard.

They probably wouldn't, but again we'll never know for sure.
As for judging Lampard, since the day he walked in the door, I've been behind him and only interested in what he does here. Unlike some I genuinely don't care what he did at Everton.

His record is pretty much what he’s doing here. Tactically poor, reliant on an outstanding performer (in this case Dovin) and not massively improving the teams situation while spending a fair amount (£4m on Grimes). You don’t need to watch every game there’s this thing called the internet where people who have sit around discussing them all day.

I know we’re in a purple patch so you’re not allowed to say it and it’s crowing season and I will still change my avatar if we’re still in this form at the end of the month, but we are 10th with a squad that finished 9th last season. Let’s have a little perspective.

Team in reliance on goalkeeper to save shots shock

Gus was absolutely an instant success. I’m not sure how this meme took hold tbh.
He was sent off on his debut and struggled to settle was my memory of his first season with us . Even as late as the playoff season he was still having disciplinary problems .
I agree he looked good from the off but an instant success is pushing it

The fuck are you on about now? Just weird.

Is there some trauma from Robins going that makes you think before he left we were smashing everybody 7-0 every week?
For some reason people have misremembered the Robins era as being all flowing football and winning 4-0 every week, when it is what most Championship games are, tight and winning by the odd goal.

TBF he started well but lost form to the extent that he lost his place in the side after we were beaten at QPR. I think the players had a big meeting afterwards and from then we won a couple to pretty much guarantee safety.

He was one of our best players from day one. He got sent off after four games thanks to the Bournemouth player taking a dive and that set his reputation.

Can't argue with the results.

I think the performances have been mixed at best & there have been some strange tactical decisions.
Now we are in touching distance of the playoffs though, the results are all that matters. If we do happen to make it though, we will need to be much better to stand a chance imo.

Basically. Prepare for the destruction of your mentions.

Except you spent the last few pages telling us its performances that matter not results. Do you want to pick a side?

I’ve not said that. I’ve said that the football is shite but you can’t argue with the results. I just don’t think they’re sustainable or a knock out competition winnable without better. I don’t think he’s got it in him to outwit another manager or get the players playing above themselves. He’s an expensive way to get about average from your squad.

Absolutely. The foundation of that team was a solid defence that kept clean sheets with a sprinkle of brilliance in Hamer and Vik. We definitely rode our luck and may not have even made the playoffs in 22/23 had it not been for Wilson’s goal at Blackburn away.

If you can't argue with the results how can the tactical decisions be strange? They have literally got us the results you can't argue with.

Stick to speaking for yourself. He's got an opinion, I agree with some of what he says. I disagree with some of it, and I'll discuss it. If you're not capable of the same and want to turn it into Primary School popularity bullsh*t, you're the problem, not him.
Hahah you crying so much lately. I didn't even know you existed till a few days ago but you seem obsessed with me 🤣

Doesn't mean they are sustainable. Our xG numbers have dropped off quite a bit since the turn of the year for example. Also, our weaknesses are more likely to be exploited by better sides. As @clint van damme rightly says though, we're not alone in that.

I knew the Lampard pile on would come back at some point, I just didn't expect it to be when he's won 5 of his last 6 league games and got us in touching distance of play offs. Truly strange stuff.

Crazy isn't it? Also don't forget the injuries. He's doing a great job and we should be excited about the prospect of returning players

Again...5 wins in 6 and there's still complaining.
Who's complaining? There seems to be a weird obsession against any hint of criticism against FL .
Im delighted we are where we are but I will feel fit to questions things like a high defensive line against good teams without being called Anti-Lampard or Pro-Robins

To be honest I'm not really worried about the better sides for now.
As long as we hold our own against those around us we should be OK.
