Strong team, glad to have Wright back in the squad.

Bassette misses out.

Can't help but think this game goes 1 way...

Oxoford haven't won in 6 games, haven't scored in 4... Cov have won 7 in 8...

We know how this goes... 2-1 Oxford I am predicting.

Massive game for Eccles, with Sheaf now fit and Torp available next week, Eccles needs a big game to stay in the starting line up.

At last we have some strength in depth, so hopefully that pressure for places will lead to top performances where it matters.

Sheaf looked way off it in his 5 minute cameo last week. Happy for Eccles to play until Sheaf is fully fit and he's ready to performs like we know he can.

I don't get the obsession with the bench. They rarely take part until 70 th minute and then only because we are losing. They are a guide to the overall strength of the squad but not much else.

It's all about whether we have the best eleven actually on the pitch. The rest is not incidental, but not much more than that.

Eccles gets the nod over Allen but surely gives way to Sheaf or Torp when they are fully fit. He's good for squad

Great team and squad, we have to expect a win. That isn’t being disrespectful or complacent, we’re the better team, with an impact bench and we’re on form.

Interesting test for Bassette’s maturity and professionalism, as well as FL’s man management skills!

Having a strong bench means you can make changes if things aren’t going well that can strengthen us, rather than weaken us. Also if winning comfortably you can bring on good players knowing it won’t negatively effect the performance

Did you manage to get a ticket for the match. I’m sitting on my hands!

That’s one strong bench.

It is.

Astonishing to think that we have that with Torp injured and Bassette not even in the match day squad.

Subject, of course, to his fitness level and the match situation I hope that Haji Wright gets a bit more than just a little cameo. I would like him to come on around the 75 minute mark.

Got potential but needs a loan next season, especially if we don't lose any of our attacking players
Ideal scenario is we go up and he goes on loan to one of the promoted league 1 teams

Bassette’s got heaps to do before impacting this squad. Far below the level.

He clearly is too raw to start but I do think he has a nuisance value that can be useful when trying to see matches out.

He probably needs to go out on loan for at least the first half of next season.

EDIT: @AOM and @Ccfcisparks posted the same about needing a loan while I was typing 😊

Surprised we've not been giving him U21 minutes now tbh.

Anyway, missed PNE as was on hols but apparently a good performance as well as the right result. Bodes well for a strong finish 🤞🏻
Looking forward to this today & can't really see anything other than 3 more points.
