Teams have good and bad patches besides the best and worst teams .. what's to say West brom don't win 9 from 11 ? Weve just won 8 in 9 what's to say blackburn don't win 7 from the last 11 .

I'm not sure football works like you say most of the time at all

West Brom might do that.

Blackburn might also do it.

Chances of them both doing it is remote

Worse case scenario will take us to 70 point from remaining games:

Stoke h - W
Derby a - W
Sunderland h - D
SU a - L
Burnley H - L
Pompey H - W
Hull a - D
WB h - D
Plymouth a -D
Luton a - D
Boro h - W

Confident we will do it.

For what it's worth, I think our next defeat comes at Bramall Lane. They're a good side, and we have a fucking woeful record there
I remember going to Meadow Lane & being pissed off when they did us 2-1, and then going back a month or 6 weeks later...

Imagine the scenes... coming back there to do them en route to Wembley!

And now Middlesbrough have potentially pulled themselves back in

This run cannot go on forever. Even the big clubs rarely win 8 out of 9

We will lose at some point and it's how we react to that loss that will define our season

Outside of that I genuinely think we can get something from every remaining game
We eat woeful records for breakfast 😋

Blackburn have their new manager too. A good point today against Norwich, if they put a decent run together that could secure one place.

Let's not get carried away, I've said I think we will do it but won't lose my head if we don't. Losing Rudi could be a big hit.

If we had just drew at home with Norwich most of this forum would be saying it’s 2 points lost!

I don't think anybody could have expected this when Lampard came in. Could they? I was hoping to be in the top 10 from where we were.

I will be a bit disappointed if we don't make it, although if Rudoni is out for a while, I will lower my expectations.

How longs Torp out for?

It goes without saying its in our hands now.

We're still so unconvincing at the back though, we'd still be heavy underdogs against Sunderland or Burnley over two legs in my eyes, regardless of the form table.
Same when we played Middlesbrough 2 years ago then

Starting to look like it's between those in 11th maybe 12th and above. Millwall who are in 12th would have to win their game in hand to keep in contention. I hope they do as their game in hand is on Tuesday at home to Bristol City. They are 4 points behind us with the same GD.

Potentially 4–2-2 once Wright is ready to start now with Rudoni injury:

Dovin
MVE Thomas Kitch Bidwell
Tatsu Sheaf Grimes EMC
Simms Wright

4–1-2-3 maybe till Wright is ready to start and Rudoni put:

Dovin
MVE Thomas Kitch Bidwell
Grimes
Torp Sheaf
Tatsu Simms EMC

Suppose it could be a different kind of disappointment not making it. Disappointed we were quite unlucky after a brilliant turnaround is different to disappointment over being at the top and bottling it.

Disappointment all the same, I don’t really know what I’m going on about

Millwall I believe still have to go to 5 of the top 8

See, I think we'll snatch a draw at Sheff Utd and lose to Burnley

Agreed with this. I do think this sense of an inevitable loss or draw is because of our early form and there’s a disbelief that we’re winning so many games. There’s a reason many people fancied us to be top 3 or 4 before the season started, we’ve addressed the biggest positional need going into the season, CM.

The games where I feel like we’ll lose are Sheffield United and Burnley. We got a result v Sheff U back in Nov when our form was in the toilet and Burnley don’t score many goals so they are two games where we could get points from.

Sod’s Law will mean that we’ll lose or draw to Stoke or Derby and then respond by beating Sunderland. Win our next 2 games and there will surely be daylight between us and 7th.

Sucker them in before we get either in the final!
