Head coach rather than manager winds me up way more than it should 😂

He's head Coach and Manager at the moment!

If he continues to be successful, why change it. 😎

Shitty formatting, but this is how the table looks since FL took over.

3. Burnley – 35pts, GD +19 (P 17)
4. Sheffield United – 35pts, GD +7 (P 17)
5. Sunderland – 32pts, GD +6 (P18)
6. QPR – 30pts, GD +8 (P 17)
7. Bristol City – 27pts, GD +6 (P 17)
8. Blackburn – 27pts, GD +2 (P 18)

If Lampard had this group all season, top 2 was genuinely on.
Looks very much like it. I've always found it slightly mystifying why the first few months of the season for this and last season were so bad. The gelling thing was one excuse ( other teams seemed to get going from the off with new squads ) and this season was just poor from a playing and management perspective .

Averaging 2 points a game.

We can afford a drop in current form to make the play offs

The attention to detail is there under Lampard and his team.

The broad plan is more of less the same. We move the ball quicker and get the ball in the box earlier. Defensively, the box has been defended a lot better consistently since Lampard has come in.

The second goal today where EMC just chased down the header was fantastic and pressuring the keeper aggressively is in the playbook (see Wednesday away too).

Agree. There is so much more awareness about many of the team and many of them have improved through the coaching.

We have a UCL winning assistant manager and that Jones has coached at Chelsea under the best managers to ever do it (Ancelotti, Mourinho and more). The quality of coaching is telling on the pitch.

I’m hoping our success will allow Lampard to expand the set up and get 1-2 more top quality coaches through the door.

I have every confidence that Doug buys in to this. The benefits are clear to see and I feel more confident than ever that young signings with potential will fulfil their abilities

FL and his coaches just are a higher level of anything than we have had before. They have a plan for each game and have got enough flexibility in the squad to implement it. The hardest job now is to keep everyone happy, everyone engaged at Ryton while keeping complacency away from the group

A loss will come but its how we bounce back will be the key.

We've bounced back nicely from 2 defeats in a row recently.

I didn't expect to beat Leeds or seeing the team picked for Ipswich that one either. Its a game we lose we expect to win that could be where we truly see the mentality

I think dropping out of the f.a. cup was a big bonus for us. It keeps us 100% focused on a top 6 finish, and stops us having a potential fixture pile up.

One thing that has particularly impressed me is the relationship FL seems to have with all the players and his obvious connection with the fans. Winning helps but it' is such a positive and refreshing attitude. The whole coaching team appears to have spent plenty of time with every player as there has been plenty of improvement in many of them . We look to have progressed to a higher level and I personally think this is entirely due to the new set up.

Does anyone know if 8 wins from 9 is a record? I know winning 6 on the bounce is a record, but I can't remember us ever returning 24 points from 27... That's prime Man City esque dominance, that

Record over ten games is 9 wins and a draw they said on CWR. This is first 8 in 9 since the 60s. I want to say 67.

Its why I get a pessimistic feeling that we'll drop points in the next 2 games because even though they're both winnable 10 wins from 11 just doesn't seem possible, I just can't compute that sort of return!

Yeah, the next one is set up to be a draw or worse I feel... But we'll see!

I really want to see us beat one of Sunderland, Sheffield United or Burnley. That's the only unanswered question Lampard has left I think - beating a really good team. He's only really had Leeds in the league so far, so will be interesting to see what happens in those games.

It will be interesting as I assume that against all these teams he will get to play his preferred formation rather than 5 ATB .
