Saw something similar on X so thought I’d ask on here. What’s the best 11 you can put together of players who we’ve had since our return to the champ?

for me

Dovin
Ostigard McFadz Doyle
MVE Sheaf Hamer Maatsen
Ohare
Gyokeres Wright
Pretty much that’s the one isn’t it? Jesus.

I’d possibly argue going four at back and sacrifice Fadz for Simms but granted Vik would be on wing then….
Need covcept to do a team photo with them all in and a mashup kit that has all the elements of those since the promotion.

Best 11 since getting back to the Championship for me would be:

Dovin
MVE
Thomas
Doyle
Maatsen
Hamer
Grimes
Sheaf
Wright
Simms
Vik

Probably wouldn’t function well as a team, frankly. It’s harsh on Rudoni and COH to miss out.

Loved Fadz for his leadership skills, attitude and all round effort, but in a best 11 no way can I find a space for him. I like the original side, but he has to come out for an extra midfielder imo. Give it to the end of the season and if he keeps going I'd have to put Grimes for Sheaf probably, but as now has to be Sheaf and Hamer at the base of the midfield and I'd bring Rudi in for Fadz.

Dovin
MVE, Ostigard, Doyle, Maatsen
Sheaf, Hamer
Rat, Rudoni
Gyokeres, Wright

Maatsen went over my head! He’s got to be in!

On Ostigard, I think Thomas has been better player for us and will probably have a higher ceiling. Hes struggled to find a home. Believe it or not, he’s played more games for us than any other club and it’s quite sad to see!

which keeper and CM are you putting in then
Collins (blatantly); move Palmer into the middle, Kastaneer on the right.

Kelly's steel in the first season was crucial to us staying up, and he also pulled us over the line in the playoff season. Add to that his leadership skills, and you have one of our most important players in this era.

Moore was superb in his first season.

I forgot Kastaneer played in the championship to be honest with you

I'm not sure Collins is as "blatant" as you make out. He wasn't bad last year. He was in the 95th percentile for saves completed.

He never convinced me last year. Save percentage doesn't tell us the quality of shots faced, and he has a really bad habit of knocking saves (even fairly routine ones) right back into the danger area.

He was nowhere close to the level of Moore in his first season, anyway.

Seeing as Ostigard has a Serie A title winners medal and has played Champions League football, I really hope you're right re. Thomas' ceiling! 🤩

Collins was in the positives last year for the metric that works out goals prevented.

This season, however, he is the worst in the league and Wilson is down there as well. Dovin, on the other hand, is emerging as a top 5 goalkeeper. Ironically, Jaime Cumming has similar stats despite his howler against us.

Tbf to Wilson he's only played 3 games in the league this season, at a time when confidence was low and players out and still has a clean sheet in there (plus 2 out of 3 clean sheets in the cup games too). I think Dovin is better, but that's a small sample to say he's down near the bottom of the stats.

Check out Wilson last season!

Dovin is a huge upgrade on Wilson, Collins and Moore, really really huge. I quite liked Marosi until he got wiped out but other than that it's been an absolute dog of a position for us for God knows how long.

Wilson played roughly the same amount of games as Collins last season and was significantly worse, believe it not.

In 22/23, for his faults, he was in the top 7 of GKs.

If playing a 4-3-3, would have to be

Dovin
MVE- Ostigard - Doyle - Materson
Hamer - Grimes - Sheaf
Sakamoto - Gyok - Wright

Harsh on Rudoni, Simms, EMC and O’Hare mind
